And don't anyone mention their fixture.

(9 games at MCG, 5 games at Etihad, 4 (home) games in Tassie. Those 4 games they play interstate are brutal: Brisbane, GWS, Freo and Sydney).

They play only two games all season where they have to travel more than one hour.
They play only one game all season where they have to change time zone.

It would be like Freo playing 9 games at Optus, 5 games at Subiaco, 4 games in Albany, 2 games in Carnarvon, 1 game in Exmouth and 1 game in Melbourne.

The fixture, up to and including the grand final only at the MCG has to change. I think it will take years but F me it will make the competition a hundred times better.

The Hawks are an annoyingly efficient operation on and off the field

On the field I think they have not getting penalised for throwing or dropping the footy down to a fine art

I also suspect the Weagles are spewin that Geelong foiled operation get Tim Kelly for them

If Sandi could mark as well as McEvoy (spelling?) we would be a better team. Just seems to hold his marks most times.
If Sandi could get paid free kicks for when his arms get spoiled in 90% of his marking contests we'd be a better team. Fact is Sandi is an anomaly and if they actually applied the rules to him he'd have an unfair advantage over the rest of the comp.

Yeah poor Sandi is the bizarro version of Dangerfield - Danger can hardly get a free paid against him, Sandi can hardly get one for

Danger never seems to be holding the ball , Very strange??
The holding the ball rule has become personality based. Fyfe benefits from it a bit so we can't complain too much, but by far the biggest beneficiary is Dangerfield. Dusty a close second.

it was actually astonishing how many times on Saturday night Sandy was blocked, had his arms chopped or was manhandled in marking contests without receiving a single free kick. Was doing my head in by the end.
I thought round 1 V Port was worse. It is a disgrace.

In addition, the frees against him in the centre square are bizarre. As far as I can work out, the interpretation was that when the bounce went into Bellchambers' half, Sandi is not allowed to cross into that half and use his superior body to outposition Bellchambers - that apparently isn't good ruckwork, it's illegal shepharding

Absolute nightmare of a game this weekend. West Coast V Geelong. Cant stand either of them but the thought of Geelong winning makes me want to puke more than west coast winning does.

How on earth will the umpires handle selwood ducking in front of a west coast boo squad?

Watching the last qtr of the Geelong v Hawks game .....pretty impressive pressure and decision making. If we'd played in that game - I think we'd have had 8 goals kicked on us in that last qtr.

For that reason I just can't see Geelong not winning if they bring half of that effort against West Coast (who have equally been far more impressive than I gave them credit for).

We also need Troy Pannell to counter the Margetts impact.
Troy was like a one legged man in an arse kicking contest awarding frees to Geelong against Hawks. He was frantic.

This week will give us an idea of how good or bad west coasts mid field are. Bullies were woeful with no backline what so ever. Sydney were very undermanned.

Hoping for a massive wake up call for WC

I wonder which bunch of umps we'll get though. They're supposed to be sticking with the same trio combination of umpires for the first 3 rounds, but there's two games to be played in Perth this weekend.
I thought Margetts was conspicuous for his fair and balanced umpiring in our game.
Putting Deano in a wc game is an entirely different matter.
