New stadium fun facts about west coast:

First team to go goalless for a quarter
First team to lose there
first team to concede over 100pts there
Haven’t scored 100 there themselves yet

Probably more to make fun of them with

Sharks. Anyone playing West Coast.
Through my job, I just had a quick chat with Jack Martin's uncle, and he said that the family is wanting Jack to return to W.A., and I said to make sure it's to the Dockers, and he laughed. Can't say I'm not trying!
Gero lad isn’t he? I understood they were as one-eyed Weagles up there as the whole Shire of Bunbury.

Mate... Half of Bunbury may be on meth but they're not stupid enough to throw their lives away and support west coast.

The best part is that we look better than both of them at the moment!
Careful.

Unfortunately I think the Eagles defence will have our forward line covered. All too often today the Cats midfielders had no leads to kick to and ended up bombing it long. Eagles have this quasi-flood back tactic that sides need to beat.

I just don't think our forward line is capable of beating it. We look good when sides give us space in our forward 50. We will concede many goals to the Eagles on the counter.

I hate the Eagles as much as any but glasses off, their 3 games this year have surpassed my expectations... unfknfortunatley.

We are starting to get this fluency in our midfield ball movement which will cut apart any team. Those handball chains and kicks into the middle were ‘A grade’ ball movement. It’s glimpses, we need more of it, but I’m not scared of the web.

Disagree. Somehow they have caught 2 teams in 2 weeks completely off guard. Geelong applied zero midfield pressure today, and when they finally did in the third, they took WC apart. This new wider ground really suits our style of play, and not theirs. If Banfield can do a job on shuey they will really struggle. I’m staggered neither the dogs or cats deployed a run with role for him. Any team looks like millionaires when they are allowed to Waltz around on their own.

We will play a ruckman though. That Fijian fellow was playing his second game

I agree I think we can cut through the web in the middle. That's not my worry. My worry is that kick into the inside 50, where Hurn, McGovern, Barass, Sheppard and 2 or three midfielders have shuffled back to fill in holes.

I hope you're right but as the Dogs and Cats may have made the Eagles look good the same could be said about the Bombers and Suns in reference to us. Lets face it neither team was great defensively. In fact they were very ordinary. Eagles defence will be better than both.

It's not the ruck I worry about. Or our midfield or our defence. It's that delivery from 60-70 out into the F50. Neither of our big forwards will be able to lose their opponent and in the heat of the moment with an Eagles opponent closing down, we'll bomb it long to Ballas versus McGovern and Nelson.

Easy pickings for their defence, counter attack, LeCras lines up from 40 out.

I took a lot of confidence out of the JLT game against them, regardless of whether it’s a practice match. It’s taken years for us to finally learn to lower our eyes but it’s paid dividends. Our trademark is pressure which will undo them. We are by no means a finished product, but we finally have the talent to hurt teams now. We could have easily kicked 130 points on the weekend. For all West Costs dominance in the first half, they were only marginally ahead.

Don't read much into the JLT. Eagles are a much better side than the JLT. Otherwise they'd be 0-3.

Eagles were also playing a better opponent than we were. Gold Coast were shizen.

I think we'll win the midfield battle against them but I fear that their forward line will perform better against our defense than vice versa. Eagles like to score goals on the counter. Hopefully we can stop it by taking a mark in the F50 or keeping the ball in there at least.

Essendon can't defend for **** but Gold Coast were very disciplined defensively. Their structure behind the ball is very Sydney like, albeit a lighter version.

We are in trouble if we bomb it in against them but likewise, if we don't I can't see how they can win enough ball to score enough. Sandi completely nullifies NicNat usually and our midfield >>>>>>>>>> theirs. No guarantees we don't bomb it of course.

You think cats were better than Gold Coast today? I’m not talking about on paper, I mean the way they played? They barely fired a shot. Not to mention the travel off a Monday arvo game with all their injuries. WC were kissed on the d*ck.

It's 3 games away anything can happen in that time . They were very lucky today that 3 three players one of them Ablett could not finish the game .

The cats were amazing in third quarter but outside of that it was the worst I’ve seen a Geelong side play since I don’t even know when - probably a good ten years or so. The third made the rest of the game seem more close than it was. For sure the umpiring was crap mainly in West Coasts favour and Geelong were playing off a six day break but ultimately Geelong didn’t have the talent on the park today to cover what West Coast dished up. Geelong are missing Taylor, Henderson, Duncan and for reasons only their match committee understand or playing spuds like Stanley (against Hawthorn) and Blicavs (today) in the ruck - I thought the new kid looks good tbh and would’ve been fantastic if mainly against Lycett instead of Nic Nat. Zac Smith whilst not a gun if the competition is lower middle range of the starting no.1 rucks in the league and would at least be able to restrict Nic Nats impact. West Coast are full strength minus JJK and Duggan (who’s done SFA this year).

Also like to add Essendon always seem to lose after a trip to Perth. It’s almost like playing after flying is difficult but it’s not like there’s two teams that do the same journey almost on a weekly basis.
