GCS Pick 3 - Jack Lukosius

I find Jack hard to assess but has undoubted talent and couldn't be passed up although I was tempted to go for a genuine mid. It's his height and position that concerns me. I don't see him as a KPF. More a third mobile tall with X factor. Has the skills and the smarts. Could be the best player in the draft or just average. No way he is a Jack Watts type. Just too driven and tough. Closer to N.Reiwoldt but that is a big call. If he gets to that level GCS have a star. Will slot in perfectly next to Wright & Day.

My belief is he could become a mid/forward player like Bont or Charlie

Has genuine star factor which GCS need. Key will be to keep him.

Right now I'm trying to cross check list sizes with available picks, and I'm getting a weird numbers out of Brisbane and St Kilda...

I would have bid on Ben Silvagni for the laughs. :)

If Carlton did somehow go with Smith as #1, I'd be somewhat disappointed initially but then appreciate there's a very good reason for doing so.

According to ep we wont be taking Smith , he even named our pick in Walsh.
This selection at #1 changes the entire order and makes it very difficult to try and get as close as possible to what might really unfold.
I understand this is a phantom draft and people can choose who they like but its now likely to be nothing like reality.

But that's not what it's about Red Bull

One has to be entitled to select the individual they deem to be best for them at their selection.

Arr0w has been on Smith for more than the past few hours and if he was to make the selection for the CFC, I reckon he'd pick Smith....hence...
No harm done.

Not sure it is that far off reality, the top 6-8 will still be gone.

Don't buy into what has been doing the rounds, as that will change very quickly. Walsh seems to be the general consensus, even by ITK posters, but I would be very surprised if anyone on BF could pick the first 10 picks in order, let alone all the recruiters, as they all have different agendas, priorities.

We'll give it a shot, but let's be ready for failure.
Live trading takes away the ability to put a name to a club, 24 hours out.

Norf have 8 list spots open??? Hope they like the look of all the DFAs as all their picks will get chewed up matching bids on Thomas & Scott.

OK their site doesn't show the ones they traded in such as Polec, Tyson, Hall & Pittard yet. So maybe only 4 spots.

The (usually very rapidly updated) Wikipedia one has 34 entries, including the trades, but it also includes Mountford and Morgan.
 
Thinking more about it, it makes sense to me that they would have dropped the rule about the number of picks maxing out at the number of available senior list spots given the on-going pick trade period and live trading on the night at least until the pick trade period ends.

I'm just going to add in extra picks for teams that don't have enough to cover their open senior list spots right now, then we'll just delete as necessary after bids.

Remember that 38 is the senior minimum, but that it doesn't have to be fulfilled at the draft (though why would you wait if they're a DFA).
