Has anyone actually heard a whisper as to when the club will post the numbers and piccies of the new guys on the Carlton site...........?

No but last year the jumper numbers were announced on the 2nd December.

Hopefully any day now.
 
They've updated the website to put most of the senior players up, but have assigned them random numbers. I wonder if they are approximate to what they will be given?

Kennedy and Mullett are 0 - could they be two of 2, 4, or 7?
Darcy Lang at 11 - maybe a 12?
Lobbe at 23 - perhaps 24?

Garlett and rookies not up yet.

They need to update the app. Not sure why it takes so long to change and also get the numbers assigned, at least after the draft.

The app is behind the website. Still had Gibbs on it when I looked yesterday.

Lang and Lobbe are just their numbers from their previous clubs.

Shaw looks like he's taken 37 based off his instagram, FWIW.

It's about controlling the message to get maximum media exposure. Clubs release player's new numbers on different day because they know supporters are curious, so it keeps momentum going.

Marketing is very important for maintaining supporter and sponsor enthusiasm, and announcement timing is a key component, especially over the summer months, when there's not a lot of news.

You're probably right. However it doesn't maintain my interest, it just irritates me. Interesting that other well-run clubs don't seem to think it necessary to delay this information.

Based on the vacant numbers and Kennedy at 7, Schumacher at 19 and Shaw at 37 it might end up something like this

2. Dow
4. O'Brien
7. Kennedy
12. De Koning
16. Lang
18. Garlett
19. Schumacher
21. O'Shea
24. Mullett
27. Lobbe
37. Shaw
43.
45. McDaid

Pack all the kids (and young trade-ins first rounders) into the top 20. Less sure about the rest but basically the mature guys/depth players fill in remaining spots plus McDaid slots in at the back before Wright.
