Rotham could surprise a few. He had an underwhelming first year but a big preseason from him would be very interesting as we could do with a speedy runner with pace pushing up on the wing. I have him as a smokey alongside Watson competing with Nelson and Cole for that 6th/7th defender spot come round one.

Interesting that every player taken in the 13-15 drafts is over in Cambodia except for Karps. I wonder if he asked to stay home so that he could get a head start on preseason? He's in need of a good year if he's to stay on the list for 2019.

Good to hear that Willie don’t blow out over the break.

Still behind in the running drills however, but I’ll take that.

Please go on. Its a boring preseason, admittedly it hasn't really got started but just humor me and tell me why he may surprise? Have you seen his last few games this year or something?

Cheers

Pre draft he was highly rated... Didn't help he was playing as a negating defender most of the time.

Next open training is Monday 27th at Lathlain at 9.30am although the time isn't confirmed on the website

New draftees usually get rolled out at that session

Sucks that it's at lathlain though. South of the river can EAD.

I've absolutely no inside info whatsoever, just filling time. He's a former second round pick with a few attributes that we could do with in terms of height, pace and run - the next Embley, the sort of player we hoped Schofield might become. Of course he's a long shot next year with so much depth at half back but that's the point I guess, any sort of AFL worthy form from him would be a surprise but not altogether out of the question given his attributes.

Rotham filling out in size could still make the grade easily
Lack of body strength when playing against mostly men was the single biggest factor holding him back last year

He'll be better off with a proper preseason under his belt (First year draftees are on modified/reduced programs and don't participate in all drills/sessions)

Don't talk shit about the south mate.

Hopefully rotham ain't ajother Notte. He doesn't really have to be a tank imo Mackie wasn't around that size but was stick thin. The way the game is heading those sort seem to be the perfect third tall as well.
