I couldn’t find one of these, so merge if there is one please.

Predict your Premier, Ladder, Browlow and Coleman.

You can make changes to your predictions up to the first game, then it’s locked in to show how little you know about football (I’m not included).

Premier: Crows

Crows
Sydney
Essendon
Geelong
GWS
Richmond
Port
Melbourne

Saints
Western Bulldogs
Hawks
Collingwood
West Coast
Freo
Brisbane
Carlton
North
Gold Coast

Brownlow: Danger
Coleman: Kennedy

Our chances rest with Smith, if we can cover him somehow then we are a chance.

However picking the top 8 was bloody hard given those out except for the bottom 4 will be pushing hard. I have think it will be a very even year.

On Essendon finishing third, every year there is a team that jumps up and I reckon their recruiting if it comes off can be a big improvement, plus the younger players who were played in the dope year will be even better.

Jeez. What’s to predict?....That we won’t lose the 2018 GF??.........I honestly have no idea.......I hope the AFC have found a formula that will throw us into another Grand Final to redeem the slaughter of 2017.

So, with that in mind I predict we will try to go 1 better! But reality tells me that losing Grand Finalists rarely figure in the following season. It seems to be a fact that may interfere with our plans of redemption.

Hope I’m wrong.

So the formula is, if you're good enough, then you can still make the GF again the following year (and hopefully win it). The chance is still high if the premiership window is still open.

Why the @#$ didn't we win the flag last year!

This year is going to be the GWS show I reckon ... that monster is stirring. Their list profile is nuts and they have lost two prelims in a row. Could see them finishing top.

Adelaide top 4 for sure, but will we take the next step in development? We have a lot of changes in the 22 considering where we finished last year ... and it could be the making of our club. We will be around the mark come the end of the year.

Essendon are a worry. I have them as my crazy top 4 pick. They are very good when they are on, have recruited really well, have some really great young players coming through ... and will have an easier fixture than other top 4 sides.

Everyone seems to have Sydney in the top two, I think that's because over the years we have learned to not under-estimate the Swans. They sneak into my top 4, but not with any confidence - could easily finish like last year for them.

Richmond can't have another run like they did. They will have a tougher fixture and the league knows their style better now BUT they are still a good team, that plays a very tough style of footy that is hard to control when it's flying. Top 8 for me.

Geelong is hard to pick, because I want them to drop so badly it clouds my judgement immensely. The addition of Gablett is apparently the second coming ... and he will do Gary Ablett like things in 2018, but will he dominate? Doubt it. Their great players are getting old, and the likes of Taylor, Selwood, Ablett, Hawkins are not what they used to be. Losing Lonergan and Mackie is big. They do have such a massive home ground advantage I can't see them dropping too far. (unfortunately) Top 8.

That leaves two spots in the 8.

One goes to the Bulldogs, the are better than 2017.

The other I'll give to Freo .. I can see improvement across all of their lines, and Ross the Boss at the wheel will not accept three crappy years in a row.

My big bust for 2018 is West Coast, they just seem ready to topple.

Power / Melbourne are the obvious clubs left out ... I just cannot see the improvement in Power at all, as much as I have had it told to me by some useful posters, I just cannot see it. Melbourne have an attitude problem, and it will take more than a couple of years to get it out of them. Moving on Watts is a start, but I think Goodie has some work to do.

Hawks and Saints probably another year off the pace.

Nic Natanui back helps West Coast in my eyes. How much is to be determined. I think Port will be there or close. Take out Bulldogs , who may or may not get their heads right, and Fremantle I cant , not just yet anyway. I also think there are rumblings in the West that might explode during the year.

I'm not sure Nic Nat is going to be back and firing as soon as expected. They have also lost a lot of players from their starting 22 of 2017 that haven't been replaced with anything outstanding.

Bulldogs are going to have a less arduous fixture and still have some real top end players, with very few holes.

Freo is a bit of a gut feel. What nature are these rumblings of which you speak?

Im worried bout the trust between our players, if its still strong i reckon we will the premiership this season.

If it were me, i dont know if id ever be able to trust Jenkins/Walker etc

I reckon it's going to be even stronger than last year to be honest, it sounds like something that's been identified as a flaw and there have been measures taken to address it. Losing the GF can do one of two things, completely destroy the group mentality and have you second guessing yourself and your teammates, or it can galvanise the group and bring them closer together. Given the adversities this club has faced and managed to come through in recent years, I'd tend to believe it would be more the latter.
