Probably my favourite player at the club ahead of Spook Dunstan and Gresh.

Love players with a bit of campaigner about them. Having played as a key defender for 11 years I definitely have a bit of bias towards Jake though!

Yep. Of course it’s King. I heard him say it.

And together with his whole “ pick 5 for Carlisle” thing, it’s a large part of the reason I take anything these commentators say with an extremely large pinch of salt and don’t let it get to me.

Good for Jake for saying a big “up yours” to him and others with deeds, not words.

Maybe David King cut out that quote from the article and laminated it and put it next to the make up mirror in his Fox Footy dressing room to remind him to think before speaking.

Unfortunately it will be obscured by all the mops and brooms also in that room and he probably won't see it.

A lot of great stuff in that article, but perhaps the best and most surprising is the revelation that he harbours plans to coach. I hope he realises that ambition with us one day, I reckon he'd be a gun as he is as a player.

Give him the responsibility and watch him carry the team.

Always thought he was a good on field leader but his discretion's off field wouldn't have him in consideration for the captaincy. But he's clearly our best leader and has stepped up big time. If the club have any cojones they'll make him captain from 2019 onward.
