With the recent form of Battle, I see our key forward mix of Membrey, Battle, Paddy/Bruce as settled. It's quite dynamic and could really be a handful with a good midfield and effective structure/game plan. With our key backs also settled (Carlisle and Austin), midfielders are the absolute number one priority.

People really seem to Ben underrating Dunstan’s trade value IMO. If he couldn’t net us a very early second rounder or even a late first I just don’t see the point in trading him. Especially when you consider Stevens is retiring and Armo should be out the door, not to mention he’s played almost 80 games and is just about to hit his prime.

Richmond gave up pick 5 for Prestia. West Coast 17 for Redden. We gave up 28 for Steele.

He’s under contract, proven contested ball winner, just hitting his prime.

No point trading players just for the sake of it, especially contracted players... need to get something out of it.

You mean the Richmond supporter who really wanted Tom Lynch and now making up trade rumours because he wants collingwood to pay full price because lynch probably not joining richmond.
While you are over here, what kind of deal are you expecting to get for Aaron Hall?

Mav Weller and some change?

Centre clearances. Hes 4th for us by ave.
1.3 per game. Same as gary ablett.
73rd in league. And on that list above him maybe only a dozen guys under 24yo.

Also ave 3.4 stoppage clearances.
21st in league.
Cripps, oliver, wines and Macrae only guys younger than 24 above him.

Maybe he doesnt improve. But improving the midfield will take pressure off him and he will look better.
We're always going to disagree, for me it will always be what he does with what he gets the ball, if we improve the midfield, with players coming in from above and improvement in those below then Dunstan as the slowest, with poor skills and the least versatile, is the first one out. In a midfield that is the worst in the competition that is lamented for it's lack of speed, skill and vision, Dunstan is a big contributor to the problem.

Yes I see the competitiveness and the will to get the contested ball, these attributes are just the starting point for a good mid, they can't be his only attributes; too often when he gets that contested ball he creates another contested situation which he fights for, we go backwards to another fifty/fifty situation and so on.

The game against GCS is pretty damning. Regardless of what you and I think a broken down Armo picked and way out performed him, when of all the players Dunstan should be replacing, Armo is top of the list and first year Clark was preferred when the game was won and out performed him. The actions of the club are pointing in one direction.

Other Teams
NO Saints
I have many friends involved in SA footy, from my previous home town(I am now a Mexican)and that includes a few of my best mates, who have Sons playing in AFL and SANFL.
One of them is involved at North Adelaide, which is the club that the current SA U/18(Brenton Phillips ) played for.
Phillips is confident that 4 of his current SA team can be around or will be picked in the top 10.
Lukosius,Rankin,Hately and Rozee.
My mates son has also been told the Crows are in turmoil internally, and many players are not happy and could leave.
We all know that via media, but the players that could leave are a possibility to get Adelaide another two Round1picks.
If this happens it is highly likely the Crows will try and get themselves into the best Draft position possible to get their hands on the players mentioned above.
Our current pick is a likely candidate to be involved in those discussions.
I doubt Carlton give up Pick1 with Lukosius so highly rated.
Whats everyone think, stick with P3 or trade for 2 picks
Could Luke Dunstan (South Australian)been involved ?
If we had pick 3 and was deadset on Luksious but he went one or two and we deadset thought a Walsh or Smith or Rankine was @ say #6 and Rozee @ 10, we might consider it with live do trading.

Interesting post by a Richmond supporter on the main forum. He suggests that Darcy Moore is on his way to the Saints in 2019. In a trade that involes a swap of 1st round picks with Collingwood eg 3 for 13 to be ontraded by Collingwood plus a player for Tom Lynch GCS.

Apparently Darcy and Jack Sinclair are best mates.

Saints gain pick 13 & Darcy Moore
Lose pick 3

Collingwood gain Tom Lynch GCS
Lose pick 13, Darcy Moore & player.
On current positions GC have Pick 4 and will get Pick5 if Lynch goes via Free Agency.
If GC drop 1 spot below us they get Picks 3&4.
So whats the point of the Trade.
AFL will make sure thats the pick GC get if he goes.

If Gold Coast force a trade, they should be able to get two first rounders or a first rounder and a player.

Not sure if Defacto is hearing much out West, but I’ve got a good contact at the Dees who reckons they’re an absolute shoe in to get Gaff.
He’d suit their team perfectly IMO, although he’d probably suit anyone’s team.
The Dees according to the Dees after Round22 last year were a shoe in for Finals

word over here is he stays, but if he leaves i dont think its too us. i dont think anyone of note is keen to come to what is a basket case of a club right now and before people start huffing and puffing about how great we are, see it from a neutrals perspective with no emotion attached to it. we are a joke.

I think it's a fair and equitable trade both appear to want to head home both have contracts to honor & we get a player that will play a minimum of 10 years for us.
Cerra was a top 5 pick and he’s flying. I reckon we’d have to throw in something else.

Nobody in their right mind would pick us over the Dees.
I think that every player manager in the country would be counselling their players not to base their long term life decisions on the immediate form of a team. Every year there will be an Adelaide who flunks and a North who exceeds expectation, and if your decision was premised on team fortunes then disappointment would be all too common.

I think that the following priorities would be primary considerations, in this order:
1. Money/other contractual terms/city
2. Personal affinity with players and coach
3. Facilities/location/convenience
4. Team prospects
