Take out Dunstan ->37.

It’s 3 & 57 -> 8 & 15

Go back over the last 5/6 drafts and I’m not so sure it’s such a great deal???
Are you saying 3 & 57 is no worse than 8 & 15? did you look at what type of players were around 8-25? because you could pick out 2 rather than one player at 3. Depends on the depth of the draft, 3 and 8 should be comparable, but 15 and 57 is miles apart, difference between a good mid and a punt.

If Cerra requested a trade to Saints, and Freo demanded Acres. Would we do it?
Injury prone junior that’s played 3.5 good games vs athletic beast that can get 30 touches from a flank and hasn’t come close to his peak.

I like Cerra don’t get me wrong but fmd

To answer your question no definitely not.

But would you pay pick 5 for Cerra in this draft?

He’s literally played 3.5 decent games and honestly Brayshaw (who is more physically developed ill admit) has been better this year.

I sure as hell wouldn’t. I had massive wraps on Cerra last year if people remember and had him probably second best player after LDU but all drafts aren’t equal. He went at pick 5 last year and genuinely probably wouldn’t be a top 10 pick this year (going off junior careers). He’s far too injury prone

Now to bring Acres into this. Endurance beast and was putting it together this year.

Acres for Cerra would have both set of fans feeling they got shafted.
Not me. Acres is so overrated it's not funny. Cerra has shown more in 3.5 games than Acres has in 3.5 seasons

Cerra is well and truly in front of where Acres was at the same age. He looks like he’s a future AA midfielder in the making. We’d be silly not to do that deal and Freo would be silly to do it.
I understand where you're coming from but that's completely irrelevant.

What do you see Acres as going forward? Do you not think he has a massive ceiling? Don't forget he was just about our best player this year before getting injured. He's also still only 22 years old - 3 months older than golden boy superstar Christian Petracca. Gimme Acres all day long thanks. We've had a big enough sample size to know that Acres can be a match winner and game changer, he still has a tonne of development and improvement in him.

That said, of course I'd love Cerra at the club. But for Acres? No thanks. That's the definition of what's called a sideways trade and serves us no purpose imo.

More is not better...

Take pick 3 to the draft, draft a blue chip gun.

Turn over Hickey/Longer/Paddy/Bruce for a pick 20-30 and be done with it.

That’s only cause RTB hugs Cerra and Richo has never hugged Acres.

Not an even playing field.

Put it this way. Would you honestly expect pick 5 for Acres if he was to leave?

I would have if they had played him in the centre .

Please remember this , Blake averaged nearly 30 possessions playing on ball as a junior .

Did a shoulder , Richardson has played him everywhere but his position , killed his value.

Probably has more upside than anyone on Stkilda’s list .

Suggest you look back at little snippets , when playing Robbie Tarrant beat him one on one .
Kicked 2 on him...our wonderful coaches moved him away.
Look at Hawthorn game in Tasmania when taking ball out middle tore elite midfield apart.

Been poorly developed as a footballer , which is what we have banging on about all along.

Someone brought up Jake Lloyd a while ago could be one the money. Talk on sen this morning that he is getting offered very low cash to say at the swans. Would be a really get and Shouldn’t cost us the world. Maybe a future 2nd rounder .
Went hard at him a year or two ago....nearly got him too....this time maybe?

A lot of mayo on that one without much actual evidence to back it up.

Not an excuse , poorly coached .

Been saying it for a while , have been saying it about Brandon White, Jack Sinclair ,Jack Steele,
Shane Savage & Luke Dunstan all have been victims of poor development to me.

Unfortunately we have too many mids that aren't as versatile as Blake so he's the one that gets moved around.

Sinclair off the rookie list, now one of our first picked.
Savage taken from the Hawks at a mature age, that Clarkson flog obviously stopped him from being the superstar he was destined to be.

Was kinda joking. But GOAT never jokes! He'll give you the horns!
I dont think he'l request a trade anyway.
Pre-season i would have agreed with you whole heartedly ... right now i reckon he would consider it ... he is contracted so its not like he will walk out but i dont think he is really happy with the way he has been handled this season ... wouldnt be a huge surprise to me to see him floated for trade

Blake isn't hard enough to be an inside mid..

Definitely could be a damaging winger though
Brain doesn't work quick enough for an inside mid.

Give him a tiny bit of time and space and he can be damaging. A bit slow for an outside mid, but he can get the ball to do the work for him.

Terrific coaching and development to recognise that Acres is not an inside mid and it would destroy him trying to make him one.

Too bad he is squandering his chances in his real positions and not developing himself or coming on.

When can we swap him for Cerra?
