I do. I think it's capable of playing finals. Is it capable of winning a flag? Yes if we develop some of these players.
I don't think we are as bad as we have shown this year. Not sure it's a premiership list just yet but i thought richmond were garbage last year and the pies would be bottom 3 this year. Shows how much i know!

I'm always amused to hear someone "tanked" their interview to put clubs off. Interviews and psychological tests at the combine are designed specifically to reveal things the candidate wants to conceal. Do you honestly think an eighteen year old schoolboy can fool a raft of experienced adults who have heard it all over decades?

Honestly, if a draft combine candidate can "fool" you, you don't belong there. I've never seen, nor experienced, someone pull the wool over recruiters when it comes to the character and personality testing disciplines. Don't forget, these kids have been watched for years. Their characters are dissected, along with those of their families and teachers or employers. By the time they get to the interview, they have been independently tested as well.

The interview is merely a fait accompli. It is a chance to clarify discrepancies and to delve into areas that have not been covered off as thoroughly as others.
After seeing Petrenko and hearing him speak on one of those home reno shows...

He went a bit later right. So again it wasnt like essendon took him really early cause they knew the player he would become.
Drafting superstars is 99% luck. They never go 1, 2, 3 in order.
No, they don’t. Doesn’t stop clubs from hiding players/manipulating the draft to get them on the cheap though.

Yes I do. He did or he was hidden by the Bombers. Wingard tanked. Darling tanked. Cyril didn’t interview clubs apart from Hawthorn and wouldn’t release medical records.
If interviews were not important, surely those players would have gone higher?
Darling didn't tank. I personally interviwed and tested him and he did very well. Rumours about his nightlife escapades and susceptibility to injury, both floated by WC scared everyone off. Poor recruiting. Cyril did interview with several clubs. In what way did Wingard tank? I don't know where you get your info from, but it doesn't seem to be accurate.

As to the last question, the reason they didn't get picked is shit recruiting, not players tanking or being "hidden". How exactly you hide a player in the modern environment intrigues me. Why didn't Fyfe, Cripps, Sloane and Steven get picked early?I repeat, shit recruiters who don't do their job properly. There's no shortage of them out there.

Considering GWS held the first 5 picks, and he went at 6, it did work.
Oh dear, Brutthough. Hate to be the barer of bad news but he went at number one in the 2012 draft. What was your argument again? #fact check, as the young folk would say.

Chad Wingard? Can see why your no longer in the "recruiting game" with your knowledge right there.

"He was drafted to Port Adelaide with the sixth selection in the 2011 AFL Draft from the Sturt Football Club in the South Australian Football League"

Great history lesson, thanks.

Who we trading?

Any real news?

Would we have to give up pick 3 for the Nick Scali girl or is she a free agent?

Just watching Future Stars with Harvey saying we need a tall back sighting Carlisle as good but Brown and Gilbert getting older, and Roberton injured. Everyone on the panel agreed.

I know there is some water yet to flow under the bridge but what about Clavarino, Austin, and Goddard? And we also have Marshall and Joyce who can play tall down back. They didn't mention these guys.

They're meant to be experts, do they just sit around eating Cheezels all day?

And then he bangs on about trading Billings to get either the tall we supposedly need or to get a couple of picks inside 20. Am I nuts or is that going nowhere slowly? Would rather aim for a star with pick four or thereabouts someone like Rankine, and continue to develop Billings into a terrific player for us.

Gave me the impression they only look at the AFL side and take no notice of the rest of the list. Anyone who says we need tall defenders really has no idea.
When we become a good side Billings will be close to A grade. He will be a much better player in a good side. It would be a huge mistake if anyone traded him.

Obviously you had differing views on the players that Trout drafted? I thought there was a panel to select players - why did Trout go in the opposite directions to the panel?

Mass media's views on our list are completely shallow and irrelevant..

They look at our list. See JB as someone with value and go yep that's the one.

Luckily no one at our club is that dumb to put him up for trade

I dont understand the logic of trading Billings to bring in a high draft pick so we can draft a classy player with great skills. Why not just keep the one we have. The first time I heard someone thinking need to trade Billings for another tall, which might be even more stupid.

Can Austin and Clavarino be that one more defender? I think you persist with Austin as the second defender with Carlisle and Roberton as the spare - Dylan was a huge loss this season

I can't argue with our forwards - no stars - can understand why the Saints like Max King - you can build a forward line around him.

But I think we need 3 more mids - an bull extractor, a pure outside runner and a silky skilled inside/outside mid

There is no need to trade out our best young players just to get back into the draft IMO. We will already have a top 4 picks, just need to trade out some others to get back into the second and third round.

Quality coaches should be our number one target. Carracella is out of contract, we need to shake heaven and earth to get him. Maybe add a Ratten or Knights as well.

Whoever ends up with Lynch will likely be looking at trading out a player or two. Richmond likely will lose a few either way. Target guys like Short etc for decent money.

I’d be happy to bring on someone like Hall for the right price and also look at some older FA’s that may help shot us up the ladder with the help of a good draw.

We’ve had a wasted year which means we miss out on spending a butt load of money on anyone again. If we are any chance on getting anyone next year we need to be at least pushing for finals next year.
I like short A LOT, and his kicking skills are exactly what we need in our back half, not dud kicks like Geary and Savage
