Mountford numbers look less than what he actually got.

That or he was very influential with his touches, thought he was our 2nd best on the day behind Ahern

Agree with that; when Carlton was on top, Mountford worked hard to put pressure on and his touches were clean and to advantage, and then to play on and have an influence with a lame leg, pretty good effort

I thought Narrier and Zurhaar had more touches than that too.
what was encouraging about Narrier was his contribution in the clinches in the last quarter; when they snuck ahead, Narrier got some ball in the contest and hacked kicks forward to help pin Carlton against the wind. I hope he's a keeper; on a big ground, he could light up

About 8 minutes according to some around here.
I reckon there is maybe one change on the cards. We smacked a team and Brad don't change much even when we lose.

May not be what you wanna here Tef but I don't see them dropping Maj this week.

The question I'd be asking at this particular time is, are any of them 3 players better than our worst performing AFL players?
Better is relatively.

1 VFL game does not a form line make. As stated above maybe 1 change.

Luke was off for a long time in the last quarter. So that change may be forced.

Wright - McDonald.

If LMac is injured then bring in Mountford and if he is injured then Zuhraar.

As much as I want Preuss in the team, he was bog average around the ground yesterday and is not in form. Not taking marks either. Goldy retains his spot another week.

Ahern's performance was very encouraging in the 2's but still looks somewhat off in awareness and speed so a few more good games then he's a chance after the bye.

He's worth 4 goals to Hawthorn based upon what I have seen.

Rotate him in the ruck to clear Mitchell's hands, rotate him through the forward line to stretch the short Hawthorn defence, but under no circumstances put him in the backline.

For those who want to watch the game:

Giantroo, thank you for posting this clip! Enjoyed watching it. Feeling quite worried for Mountford now though - he was REALLY lame at several points throughout, and yet he keeps playing AND kicks the match-winner. Love this kid, and can't wait to see him come back into the side, but at this rate, geez...

Loved Narrier's work - some quick and clever disposals, and a nice kick at goal (I love the way he holds the ball in his run-ups!), and that great snap goal in the 3rd! So much to look forward to . Same with Xerri - good tap work in the ruck, nice mark from Zurhaar's kick, and a nice follow-up goal.

2 goals from Larkey! Woo-hoo!

Also really happy to see Wrighty back to pretty much his old self. Shouldn't be long now!

Ahern is the centre that holds it all in. Saw the future playing in a rainstorm.

And 3 cheers for Hibbard! C'mon everyone - 25 disposals and 9 tackles!! He's one of my new faves. (Hibbo is the new Gibbo!) At one point when I saw him in the 1st Q, I thought "I don't remember Hibbs being that short.." And then I realised, "Oh! He's standing next to Preuss. Never mind. "

Anyways, thanks Giantroo! I look forward to more VFL matches. And please God - make Mountford be better soon.

Whilst I'm not as down on Maj in defence as you are, I agree that this is optimal use of Majak, especially in the upcoming game.

He's adding value in the ruck - more so than Goldie, but unfortunately without the tank - and would cause them real headaches going forward if he stays out of Brown's way.

Wouldn’t be against Zurhaar for Turner, turner played okay but we could use a bit more speed in the forward line. Z is a bit more explosive than Turner
Turner got one vote in the Coaches award for that game. Hard to tell from TV but probably did a job on a running defender. I don’t see Zurhaar as being “explosive “ more bullocking.
