What a devastating result for Shell. Qualy 1 and 2 with RBR 3 and 5.
RBR come 1 and 2 and Shell 3 and 10. No crashes, just outraced.

The Shell strategy was the reason they lost that. Had blinkers on with Lowndes, they didn’t need to pit at the same time as him. For such a good team, was a very odd mistake from them.
Maybe but the last few rounds has seen the RBR team having stronger cars at the finish. It also doesn’t help that Fabian is surrendering positions so meekly. Scotty was under extreme pressure for the last 12 laps or more from Roland Dane’s chargers!

Unless I've missed something, the sole reason for the quicker RBR cars were the tyres.

I might be being a bit harsh as the safety car did bring them closer than they otherwise would have been. Still Think the strategy was really poor though.

You're absolutely right about FC. It boggles the mind how he got resigned.

Coulthard has been a 3rd, maybe 2nd tier driver for 15 years driving for the mid-rear teams. He's accumulated a lot of bad habits and not had to deal with driving the best car. There's a higher level of accountability driving the best car, and he's not used to it and seeing all his weaknesses exposed that were hidden when driving for the smaller teams. He was good last year, but would now be realising that last year should be a quiet season. It's not easy to elevate yourself to a premier driver when driving at that level is a black art .

It's the problem Rosberg had in 14 against Hamilton, when he was arguably better than him in 13.
