Current dilemma is how to spend my money I get from saving on premos.

So I've been running with 4 600k mids + Fyfe. This leaves me with a 3-0-5 defence, 2-0-1 ruck and 4-0-4 forwards, i.e. 8 rookies on field. A lot of teams have 6 and have achieved that by getting someone like Coniglio in as M5.

So I decided to bring in Coniglio for T.Mitchell and give myself about 250k to play with.

Max I can afford at D4 would be 430k.
M6 390k.
F5 390k.

Is it worth using it in any of these spots? Do I put it towards premium rookies (at the moment Naughton, O'Shea, Brayshaw are my expensive ones) in terms of Coffield, LDU, Dow, Rayner?

Not happy with any of the options really, think I preferred my starting premium line-up but it straps me for cash in terms of early upgrades and means I'm running 2 extra rookies, albeit without any 'true' mid-pricers.

I don't know how much trust I can put into jlt scoring. Pretty sure coaches use it as experimentation with tog and field locations.

I've had no Danger and Lycett locked in for a month or so now.
The has been pretty midpricey

I dont see any growth in Hibb or Simpson, in fact i think they'll decline a bit.
Hurleys wrist worries me
Yeo as a mid in that wet toast side is horrible imo
Roberton, Ellis and Rich are poo and going nowhere
Laird I'd like but can't find a spare 80k.

And i can see growth in about 5 or 6 of the 400-499k defenders

I recently decided to delete my team and start again and as a result about 1/3rd of my team changed and now i sit with:

Def: 1-2-5
Mids: 6-1-4
Rucks: 2-0-1
Fwds: 1-3-4

Almost halved my number of mid pricers and increased the number of on field rookies from 4 to 6. I'm pretty happy with my current team - especially my midfield - and cant wait for the season to start!

Genuine question to all those who constantly quote players as upgrade targets, I would like to understand their thinking on what the value of a trade is.

Because you only get 30 of them, so every player that is an upgrade target is at least one trade (or in many cases 2, a downgrade incl) (or in a few cases, 3 to make sure you get enough cash).

Also the shortfall each week on not getting the premo early needs to be matched against the benefit later on.

(Of course this is based on those chasing overall rank rather than league wins.)
