I recognise you would have just scanned the list for names, but did you actually list Ayce Cordy and not Liam Picken?

so this draft now would have to be pushing the 2001 draft as best ever!! And its only a couple years on. and one of those years was a shit interrupted season!

You could put the top 20 players on a dart board and hit any of there names and be happy to pick them! And could argue a dozen could have gone at 1 in many other years

Walsh Luko King rozee king smith thomas blakey caldwell butters Duursma

plus plenty of time for the others to step up

If I had the number 1 pick im taking Lukosius, his footskills are incredible for a player his size. Still think he will end up a CHF with his mobility and surprisingly decent marking ability. Going to to be a star.

The more exposure they get, the more it is looking this way.

That draft was very wide indeed. RN there aren't really any Elites from that draft however.

Top 7 are spot on. hard to argue those selections

Could have so many AA's in that list.
Have played better than their selection

Butters
Duursma
Koschitzke

Dane Beams? Luke Shuey? Sidebottom? Michael Walters? Nick Nat? not elite? You're a hard marker.

Hurley, Hill, Rich, Hanneberry Hartlett, Sloane, Ballantyne, Zaharakis, Shiels, have all played at an elite level at times.

Seriously, count the AA jumpers and other awards in the list I wrote and get back to me when this draft catches up.

Thomas' last 2 months have been exceptional, really starting to break out. Been a real reason for our turnaround.

Averaging 19 disposals 1.5 goals and almost 5 clearances a game since Noble moved him into the center square. There's only a handful of mids that average 20+1 in the league. That compares very favourably with the likes of Shai Bolton and Connor Rozee who the media fawn over.

His ball use and breakaway speed from the center is a thing of beauty.

Going to be a monster when fully physically developed, he's still just a baby.

Top-end of the draft is ridiculous especially if they develop as they should. Depth a bit iffy but there have been bargains to be found, and I think the bargains will evolve over time.

Tarryn Thomas coming like a train.

It's amazing how quickly things can change. His rate of improvement in a midfield role under Noble has been nuts.

I honestly wouldn't trade Thomas for a single player in this draft, even factoring the strength of it and quality of players.

He scopes to be a 190cm 25+1 goal a game midfielder with some of the most damaging foot skills in the league

The names in that 25+1 group at the moment are basically limited to Bontempelli, Petracca, Martin and Gray.

He is a ripper. Reckon most clubs would be very happy with whoever they took in the top 10.
Except Adelaide, all would probably stick with what they have.

Sam Walsh is putting a gap on the rest.

The Blues got the best player with the number 1 pick. Practice does make perfect.

Might be the first time it’s happened since Riewoldt.
