Surely Fagan and Kodgey have someone lined up from Hawks
I had a look at their list and there's not much on there that I'd be interested in.

Luke Breust- Would be fantastic but 28 next year and still in contract.
Liam Shiels- Would be a good get to add another experienced head to our midfield and he's 1-2 years younger than our current older mids, still in contract.
Jack Gunston- 26 year old gun who can play at either end, still in contract.

The others have either just been traded in and/or are in their young group that they are basing their rebuild around ie. Jaegar O'Meara, Tom Mitchell, James Sicily, Ryan Burton, James Worpel.

Jayden Short 22 years old, elite ball user/runner, small defender, still OOC 2018. Could he be squeezed out of the Tigers because of salary cap pressures ie. Possible Tom Lynch acquisition.
I really like Jayden Short, wonder if there is something we could do if we did a trade with Adelaide and ontrade one of those picks to Richmond for Short and their end of round first.

We might end up trading out of the the top 10 but would end up turning our pick into Short and two first round picks.

Yep, I really like him as well, I don't like the idea of trading away our first this year though, great elite talent at the top end. Maybe next years first, would have to be their 2nd this year come back our way though.

Let's not be the club who loses the plot trying to secure the next Aaron Shattock, Brett Voss, Luke Weller from a premiership side on the assumption that anyone on the fringe of a premiership team is a guaranteed gun.

Agree TBD, if you're talking about Jayden Short though he is no fringe player, he's turned himself into a lock in a reigning premiers side. I'm also definitely against trading out this years first in any deal involving Jayden Short. Next years first with something back is a big maybe as well.

Any chance of actually posting the article for those of us unable to access the article; makes it a hell of a lot easier.
Basically it just says we have confirmed our interest in Wallis, joining Essendon and Gold Coast in the hunt. If a club offers him 4 years he may leave the Bulldogs. Article also says Essendon are in the box seat for him as he wouldn't have to leave Melbourne.

BRISBANE has joined the hunt for Western Bulldogs free agent Mitch Wallis to help beef up its midfield for a finals tilt next season.

The Lions have some of the best young talent in the competition and are targeting Wallis to add more leadership and strength through the midfield.

The Herald Sun understands a rival club could prise Wallis out of Whitten Oval with a four-year deal, securing his future until the end of 2022.

Great news re the finals tilt
Interestingly, despite having been so bad for so long, we've actually been accumulating a not-insubstantial amount of finals experience. Currently 65 finals across 9 players (with only Rich having played a final for us). Melbourne, by comparison, has only 44 across 7.

In fact we've got more finals experience in our current side than Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne, Gold Coast, and St Kilda. And while Wallis may have been injured for the Bulldogs flag, he did play an EF in 2015.

Hodge (23), Beams (12), Bundy (7), Cameron (7), Robinson (5), Bastinac (4), Walker (3), Rich (2), Bell (2).

-----

Would it blow everyone's minds if I pointed out that the three teams with the most finals experience are Sydney (303 across 27), Hawthorn (263 across 23) and Geelong (209 across 28)?
