Someone needs to go back and catalogue all of the calls that hungrytiger preaches as fact but has got completely and blatantly wrong.
Surely nobody would be so vindictive as to keep ridiculous screenshots from a select group of posters....

Surely North's offer would be too big to match.

Why?

We only need to find the increase from Gaff current salary to the new salary, they need to find the full amount.

We have know Gaff was becoming a restricted free agent for some time, if the club hasn't structured things so we have the flexibility to match any offer (sans a gold coast(AFL)/GAJ or Sydney/Buddy) they have not been doing their job properly.

I don't think we would have any issue arranging things to increase Gaff's contract from the estimated $600k he is on now to $1.2 million. Knowing full well we wont have to actually pay it, as in my mind there is zero chance he says im going to north, we match, and he then stays.

It's pretty cheeky for him to leave for "opportunity". He'd have had a shitload of opportunity last season had he not got injured. He's got a shitload of opportunity this season. And he'll have a shitload of opportunity next season. So he's going to leave because he might have to share the load with Naitanui in 2020? It's not like Naitanui is going to be playing big minutes. There is ample room for both of them. If Lycett becomes a top-liner, we're not going to be leaving him on the bench for half the game.

Ordinarily, sure. The splashback is we'll be without a ruckman in 2019.
Yeah I'd prefer him to stay, but a decent return if he decides to leave.

The above probably explains Lycetts comment that Nicnats injury put a spanner in the works re contract negotiations- he was always going to be second fiddle but if he stays has the opportunity to be the big banana that wasn't likely before

I'm not as convinced he's leaving as others but dare say he's still undecided which is a concern. Same as gaff

He may decide to stay though if we said we would match $1.2m a year. Which wouldn't line up with the maximum we are prepare to pay him and so wouldn't be a good idea.

I don't think we would match unless we were happy for him to accept the matched offer.

"McGovern 100% gone to Freo"

Im at a Brendan Fevola function.

Mcgovern is 100% gone to Freo. So theres our Round 1 pick.
Cripps heading home, so is Jack Martin

Spoke to a very good Carlton mate who lives in Brighton with big connections he says Cripps is heading home to WCE. Its not a money thing. Home thing. He will get big money eventually at WCE.
Id say Gaff is how this happens.
Ive also heard we are into Jack Martin through friends of his. Hes not going to cost too much.
Ryan returning through the WAFL - nope, came straight back into the side.

Actually just spoke to someone about Ryan and he's lining up for EP this week and playing next game against bombers. I'd say Petch is a fair chance now. Shuey and Petch in.
Kennedy back against the Crows - nope, missed that week and the week after

KENNEDY is back for this game. Have a look at the video yesterday of him. He was running and says it's mostly muscle corked. Simmo said he will be back too.
We definitely now have been shown we can't play 3 tall fwds when it comes to the crunch. We need more run.

Edited changes

INs
JK, Ahchee, Sheed, Venables, Barrass, Watson, Petruccelle

OUTS
Mcinnes, Waterman, Masten, Hutchings, Schofield, Jetta, Lecras

Getting rid of slow guys and Old has beens. And never will be's in Waterman and Mcinnes.

We need to do this now. Get some youth in before we play an improved Giants and Pies.
Tim Kelly's missus and kids are back in Perth - nope, Mrs Kelly said she was struggling in Geelong but she was still there.

His MRS and Kids are back in Perth...Get over yourselves he is coming home.
Cripps has told Carlton he's leaving - nek minnit signs for two more years.

Cripps has told Carlton hes leaving Avishka. Ive got this from a top source too..hence why this blues man that started thread is saying its not what the media are saying about him. And instead of waiting til Free Agency next season they can gain for him now.

And it could look like this.

Blues are using pick 1 to get Dylan Shiel and an exchange of picks maybe.

Mitch Mcgovern is going to Carlton.
Blues have also offered a big contract to Jeremy.
Eagles match and force a trade. Jeremy and say another WAFL Victorian player Ie Mutimer or someone else for Cripps.

In affect Blues get Dylan Shiel, Jeremy Mcgovern and Mitch Mcgovern..

Could be a similar situation for Tim Kelly.
Lycett to be used.

Eagles get Cripps and Kelly lose Mcgovern and Lycett.
Dont forget Lecras and Emac to retire. Could really retire Jetta too.

Someone has said on a thread not long ago that West Coast were getting 2 classy mids. Well theres your 2 mids.

Mcgovern will be offered 1.2 plus million
Lycett wants to be number 1 ruckman so hes looking at 7 to 800k. Thats 2 million.
We can get Cripps and Kelly for less.
Eagles physios hopeful NicNat only had bone bruising - if they were they kept it pretty quiet, Simmo's reaction immediately after the match suggested everyone suspected the worst. Note: couldn't find his follow up claim that NicNat was going to retire and take a job with the AFL, think he deleted it.

Physio above has spoken to the Eagles physios. He said to me they are hopeful its Torn Meniscus and bone bruising. 4 to 6 weeks. But pain associated with both are similar. See above.
Swallow headed to Freo - nope, re-signed recently.

Ainsworth was heading for a round 1 debut before he got injured, hence Masten getting a reprieve - nope, Ainsworth didn't miss a week of action.

Ainsworth looking good. He was the one the Eagles said was the bolter in the preseason and Masten got a lifeline as Ainsworth got injured.
Gaff will put pen to paper in a couple of weeks - we're still waiting

Just heard that Gaff will put pen to paper within a couple weeks.
Keanu Pinder to West Coast - I suppose this could still happen but we're actively trying two other basketballers, not him

Confirmed Keanu Pinder to West Coast..Have some pretty good company tonight at my local.
This will still take some beating.

Ballantyne has signed at Baldivis Brumbies with his mate Blaine Johnson.

Vardy and some unknown ruck we get in the draft.
That doesn't worry you?

I just don't want to lose Gaff because we have to pay Overs for a Lycett.
Well, sure. But if we lose Gaff, it'll be because North have made an outrageous offer over and above what we are willing to pay and he can't bring himself to leave 2 million out there between now and the end of his career. An extra 100k per season to Lycett isn't going to be the dealbreaker.

Gaff’s father seriously ill after having major heart surgery according to the HS
And gaffs intentions post 2018 just got a little less clear and if his fathers heart condition was known to Gaff for some time it might help explain a) his reluctance to sign on and b) a muddled thought process that led him to uncharacteristically whack an opponent

Hope his dad recovers fully and quickly

The plus side is, that his contract is higher with us, meaning if another club wants him, they have to pony up to pry him away. say ports as an example 12 and 22 (latest draft order 8th Aug) for Lycett and 20 from us?? Not sure whether Port would be his destination club of choice though, still second fiddle to Ryder for a couple of years, similar with Sam Jacobs, both 30?
