Just because he holds out for more money doesn't mean he will leave unless he gets it. He may well be planning on staying with us but just wants to eke every last dollar he can get and is using these other offers to do so. We just won't know until he puts his name to paper somewhere.
Eke out every last dollar? He was picked up with pick 44 in the rookie draft and had fitness issues for years.

Would of any other club take the chance I him back then?

Yes he has been great for us but its not like he has not benefitted.

That's not really relevant. He's worth what he's worth now, not what he was worth 5 years ago.

Dont forget both Josh Kelly and Dustin Martin did this last year and stayed.

Sometimes its just easier to put on hold to stop the questions, and do it at seasons end.

Its probably easier for the Eagles as well to finish signing everyone else first, and know exactly how much money they can throw at gov and gaff after that

Gov's manager is Colin Young, a renowned hard-arse negotiator. He's the guy that got McCarthy to Freo, convincing him to sit out a year in the process. I am very confident Gov will stay, they are just doing this to try and get another year on the contract and maximum dollars. If other reports are to be believed, the money is not so much of an issue, it is just that they want another year. I'd be very surprised if he left because of that, after saying how he really doesn't want to leave West Coast in his press conference earlier in the year.

Kelly's decision based on how close he viewed GWS were to a flag. He is young and can move for money later on.
Dusty's chat with dad in NZ who is big on loyalty given his background played a big part in his decision. Given Tigers were willing to pay his worth helps too.

Gov is setting himself up for the future for him and his family. $$ and length of contract is the deciding factor.

Not sure about that. Don’t want to go too far the other way!
It kind of depends on what type space is created, if its one big hole then he's going to struggle and just get swamped but if there are multiple holes that open up he can pop in and out of them sliding out with the score!

Unless his manager is advising that holding out until the end of the year will get him more money wherever he ends up. Hope the club is not being greedy. Give him what he wants unless it’s ridiculous.
A defender on 1.2-14 million a year is ridiculous when you have JK playing for 650-700k a year...

Sounds like Gov in being the greedy one..
