Even 5yrs is a gamble. It appears that he may have some shoulder issues? At least that what it looks like whenever he gets a hit, he's always winged after heavy contact. Who knows if his shoulder/s will cope even after another 3yrs

Nope. Draft night reaction and 1st press conference, he didn't appear remotely enthused compared to our other selections.
Unless he's the type who doesn't show much emotion I suppose.
That seems to be his personality, pretty laid back character. Similar in the AFL.com.au video before the draft.

His manager's Colin Young, yeah? Guy loves to play silly buggers. I don't know if Gov'll stay or go, but I wouldn't read into this latest move.

It was Young who had Rosa 'keen to return to Melbourne' every time his contract was being negotiated, wasn't it?

This. Brander will sign soon!

While Kennedy is around it will be hard to play Brander, Darling, Waterman, Ryan and Allen x2 in the same team.

What riches we have in the forward line.

Could always turn one or two into defenders or mids/wingers.

Oscar allen already playing defence for east perth .
Matty allen also looks great as a key forward . So much depth .

I'd be very reluctant to pay McGovern more than $800K a year, I think it's too much out of our salary cap.
If he leaves we move Barrass into his role and play Schofield/Emac as the lockdown defender. Obviously means we'll have to draft a KPD at some point in this draft but I don't think it'll hurt us as much as everyone thinks.

We'd need two first rounders for him.

There were a fair few games last year we would have lost without mcg

Exactly. That being the case though whats the difference in risk between a 5 or a 6 year deal?

If he wants a 6th fine, its $700k not $1m.
