Colin Young is Ballantyne's manager, let's not forget the whole Ballantyne to West Coast is close saga last season which was completely laughed at by Bond.
That's the only reason there is so much drama around govs FA Collin young is the same bloke that orchestrated dardy mccrafty to spend a year off footy to get his way to Freo the bloke is not afraid of extreme tactics

Not quite - it;s an extra $1.1M at most (when considering tax). And likely only an extra $800k.

Whilst that is a lot - money isn't everything in life - and once you have enough - there is other things that are important.

Either contract should set him up finanically for life. But ultimately as a professional sportsman, his loyalty is to himself and his family.

Ultimately though - if we do lose Gov - we have a guy ready to step into the spot. We would then need to find a lock down key tall.
Leave TB as the lockdown (He will get better) and bring brander in as the floater very good hands on him apparently.

He made a little slip of the tongue in his 92.9 slot. His whole direction during the interview was I'm putting it off til the end of the year.. then towards the end of his little speech goes we will look at it at the bye.. that to me says he's just playing the agents games..

It felt like he was reading a script his manager gave him imo.

Yes I know Kelly as an extreme example of how it could work to our benefit.

There would be a few busts for sure but the principle really is dont waste money on list cloggers or depth players.

Instead of a Giles at $300k draft Darcy Cameron.

Instead of Karpany at $200k draft a Banfield or a Liam Ryan and spend the time developing them.

Instead of Colledge at $150/200k turn the list over, save that coin and spend it keeping our top performers.

I just hope that the club doesnt lose a proven gun over $200k pa or an extra year.
Your point is true enough but aren't you just assuming what such guys are being paid?

Colin Young has a long history of using the media as pawns and tools in the negotiating process.

He leaks and plants stories at will to help his cause, even if the truth is manipulated , distorted at at times mischievous.
Look no further that the drawn out saga through all forms of the media in the Cameron McCarthy fiasco.

McCarthy had a huge offer on the table from The Purples, far superior financially, to the GWS contract he had so happily inked six months before and then subsequently put on a pantomime show that was beautifully orchestrated and choreographed by none other than Colin Young.

Young is a Master of Puppetry , a real prick to deal with, but you would want him in your corner if you wanted some hard ball negotiating done.

Whilst I personally don't like the guy, I can't help be impressed by the fact that he gets results.

But also don't be fooled he is businessman who is primarily money driven , so always view and take his comments on board with this caveat :

" Always look for the self interest". :creditcard::dollar::euro::moneybag::gbp::yen:

He is 26 after all.should we give him 6 years worth 7 mil?? Or use him for two top ten draft picks?? We also have gaff to deal with.interesting to see how eagles play this.I would say keep him, if he wants too much then trade for two top 10 plus second round.Ill take that risk.

That ain't happening. We can either match the offer from the oppo. or we get band 1 compensation.

He’s a lot taller than 190 cm in my opinion. Wait for the reading after next pre-season.

Still wish we had Kelly in our midfield though.

Allen is definitely going to cop it from supporters but luckily most are too dumb to know that we picked Allen before Kelly so they’ll probably mistakenly hang shit on Anus instead.
He'd be 191cm in my opinion...I'm 189cm tall (and 213 round :'(:p) and he looked a fraction taller than me.

For an old time comparison, Glass was definitely taller. (192 list)

WAFL site says 193cm but thats still not really tall enough to be a KPF.
It’s a bit McGovern all over again but I saw him next to Brander last weekend and they looked about the same height

He's listed as 191cm on the WCE site so around there. Doesnt he have long limbs like Waterman so can play slightly taller?

Give McGovern what he wants.

We get to keep the best defender in the comp and hes that much better than any other up and coming defenders we have including Barrass (he doesnt have the natural footy smarts that McGovern has)
A defender like him doesnt come around often,we have him now keep him.

On top of this whoever has Jeremy probably gets Mitch for the 2020 season, whos developing nicely as a forward with the Crows.
Could be a JK replacement.
