Will know a lot more about players like Durdin (can he apply himself to stick at the level week in, week out?), Wood (can he stay on the park and actually boot some snags), Garner (is he around for another 100 games or another 30?), McDonald (is he that inside/outside high production mid we need or a flanker in a mid's guernsey?) and Simpkin (are you the one [we've been waiting for]) this time next year I reckon.

Adelaide will already be on the phone to GC, whispering sweet nothings down the line. I expect GC to drop their strides too. They know they probably won't hold either of the S.A. boys.

Pick 1-2 to Adelaide, then trot off to the draft with 3 x 1st round picks in a super draft (7-8, 10-13 & 14-18)

This should be a roast thread.

Looking down the barrel of a rebuild, we only have picks 4, 23 that are worth using.

We were unable to do anything proactive or innovative to look at securing an extra pick at the draft to help the rebuild process.

We gained literally nothing.

We added third rounders for next year, mind you the only guaranteed players next year are Crocker and Thomas.

We could not even land Darcy Lang.

Absolutely no positive spin you can put on this, besides pick 4, our rebuild really doesn't properly begin until 2018 off-season. Hopefully by then, we will have hired some off-field muscle that is less hopeless.

Watson will be recovering from an ACL so I think we should be patient otherwise we're throwing a 2nd round pick away. Junker and Zurhaar will need to work since they're rookies but I think both are quite talented. Larkey seems to be developing well to me and is 197cm, think we should show patience. Mountford can't afford to go backwards due to his modest skillset, Hibberd needs to show he can get on the park and Josh Williams needs to show he can win the hard ball.

Watson won't be doing much next year. Surely we would give him 2019 at the least.

I'm hoping we can convince Sam Wright and Shaun Atley to come across as free agents, besides those two and maybe Lynch and Gaff I am not sure if I have any interest in the rest. I can see the Hawks trying to trade us that Burgoyne guy though.

I'm a guy who doesn't give up and not sit on my ass and not try. Confident. Whatever the result it, one is best to try than not. Its a defeatist attitude that won't bring positive results long term.
