Yeah, he is a gun. Hard running two way midfielder who is only Going to improve over the next 2 years while he gets an extended run at it.
Or, he can cop another big concussion or two and be out of league football in 12-18 months...

Was Nathan Buckley similar to this, except he had already chosen collingwood? Different system though? Idk.
It's a long time ago but I think Buckley pretty much made it known before he was drafted that he wanted to play in Melbourne. Brisbane drafted him anyway and Buckley then made it known he was out of there at the end of the year. Not sure if he only had a 1 year contract after being drafted or he was still in contract with the Bears. Different times, probably different rules.

De Goey due to re-sign soon

Not surprising at all. Why would he leave. We know money is not the sole motivator for these types of players. And there’s a huge stigma assiciated with players who are seen to be solely leaving for the $$. He was never going to leave in my opinion. No matter which club was chasing him.

Ppl in the know - haven’t you cotton on yet
Don't get too invested into it as it may not be even true. Just remember, I believe that came from this guy who is not a reliable source:

Plus it is bloody hard to get players out of their current clubs.

I wouldn’t go that far but hunt has been going higher average DE than our whole team this year. I mean it’s not a massive feat considering we are ranked 18th I believe :|
Okay. My perception is of him running at a million miles an hour and spraying kicks.

Remember that Williams had the exact knock on him as a footballer...... the club has shown him the love and he has reciprocated back. Not many here pick the crap out his effort thus far and his disposal.

He’d be a good cheap pickup - something we need out of back half.

We will struggle to attract a player like De Goey, he plays for a big club, the club is going well on field and they will have money to pay him and probably set him up with something else. as it currently stands we need to have success to attract supporters, Melbourne has huge population growth and will generally innitially pick a team that is going well.

Currently our best bet, is to either get a "homesick" player from interstate or bring in a great player from a poor team.
Personally if Beams is on the market he would be a good one for us in my opinion.

Yep we need to target those that look like not playing finals
