Is there any merit to this Cerra business or is it just a bigfooty rumour?
The reasons behind the cerra rumours are due to his and family reactions on draft night. Combined with fairly solid info saying he refused to sign a contract extension.

But the rest is all just bigfooty crap.

Dow is BFNAAK. Cerra was a Tiger but his mum supported North.

“I’ve spoken to most clubs in that range but they don’t give much away,” Cerra said.

“Every time someone asks me where I’m going, I’m in the same boat as them, I honestly don’t know but it would be awesome to go to North. Mum is a North supporter.”
Was going to post this very recollection.

Last year was a minefield for top 5 rated kids wanting to stay in Victoria with a 2 in 5 chance of doing so.

Someone mentioned Cerra would've been trying to avoid Carlton which I think would be nonsense but him mentioning us was almost certainly an attempt to escape the clutches of a non-Victorian club.

However the minute they're drafted things change and Freo aren't too bad at retaining them. Should he want to come home there'll be a raft of clubs fighting it out though our "expendable" 1st rounder could be a major bargaining chip unless Kelly is in play.

Both the McGovern's are absolute guns. I'd have both at North.
We get em then the midfielders will come. In droves
This and this.

The midfield and perhaps a productive small forward are our priorities though we may have some answers to both already in the VFL.

However if you can get upper end talent that fits into your structure you have to look hard at it.

Both McGoverns fit this description. I'd be all over them. IMO GC's Tom Lynch doesn't so much.

Jeremy McGovern would be a super get.
We’ll lose Thompson sooner rather than later and I don’t hold much hope that Durdin will make it.

Mitch is a bloody good player but I’d need convincing that giving up a 1st rounder and a large salary on him would be a great move.

Jeremy is a gun. Not sure what Mitch offers that we don't already have on the list.

Or do we just get him so that Jeremy comes too?
Mitch offers what Jarrod Waite does, except he is 13 years younger.

He, like his brother is an excellent mark, very mobile and can move up the ground. Would take the pressure of Brown massively.

Mason isn't exactly Mr Durable and Jack's body will become more of an unknown in the next few seasons with his battering ram past.

Jeremy would provide a chop-out for either while being a good player in his own right.

I agree he's a very good player as i said above. I still question do you make him a priority when you have Brown, Wood, Ziebell and Larkey who has potential or do you spend that money and draft pick or picks on a mid where we are really deficient.

Jeez, you'd swap Mitch for Durdin, who is basically Mason Wood at this stage. Maybe a future sweetener. Get Jeremy via FA to get the boys together, get Gaff FA and swap this years and next years first for Kelly, then go to the draft and nab Thomas and Scott.

The McGoverns would be great, but I don't think they are the best value for money!
Prefer to spend that on a great mid.
Would love to see a structure with BBB and Souva together terrorising the forward line!
Both great hands and a great set shot!
TT, Wood Garns Ziebs and a couple of small forwards rotating through would make our forward line unstoppable!
Will then come down to good supply, hence a great mid is crucial !
