Was being more than slightly facetious, but Cockatoos talent is on a completely different level to Turner's. If we think we can get him fit, then its definitely worth trading a guy who isn't getting a game when fit for him.
He has never been fit. If we are trading preuss, it better be for someone who upgrades us instantly or a decent draft pick so we guarantee ourselves tt and another 1st

If we're trading Preuss for anything (which I hope we're not, why would we trade our next ruck when our current one is 30?) I hope it's for a better player than Cockatoo. Even picks would be better in my opinion.

Brisbane Lions join chase for Western Bulldogs midfielder Mitch Wallis

BRISBANE has joined the hunt for Western Bulldogs free agent Mitch Wallis to help beef up its midfield for a finals tilt next season.

The Lions have some of the best young talent in the competition and are targeting Wallis to add more leadership and strength through the midfield.

The Herald Sun understands a rival club could prise Wallis out of Whitten Oval with a four-year deal, securing his future until the end of 2022.

Wallis is highly rated at the kennel and his experience and team discipline over 118 games appeals to the Lions, who hit the jackpot acquiring champion Luke Hodge from Hawthorn late last year.

The Lions have registered their interest in the hard-running midfielder with the Wallis camp, but there are a number of clubs in the race to land the father-son jet.

Mitch’s father, Stephen, played 261 games for the Dogs between 1983 and 1996.

Wallis has already attracted interest from Essendon and Gold Coast, with the Bombers widely believed to be in the box seat to keep him in Melbourne.

Essendon is openly targeting another inside ball-winner and is planning to be active in trade period again after landing Jake Stringer, Devon Smith and Adam Saad last year.

Essendon has a quality midfield brigade but want another hard-nosed onballer such as Wallis to fill the void left by Jobe Watson when he retired at the end of last season.

Wallis is weighing up his future at the Bulldogs after another decent season, averaging 21 possessions across 13 games this year.

Wallis has made a full recovery from the horrific broken leg in 2016 but he appeared to fall out of favour last year, playing 12 senior games.

The Dogs are looking to make changes to their list after missing finals for the second-straight year on the back of a stunning 2016 premiership.

Wallis is one of four Western Bulldogs’ free agents facing uncertain futures.

Tom Liberatore, Luke Dahlhaus, Jordan Roughead and Wallis are able to switch clubs at the end of the season under free agency rules.

The club also wants veteran defender Dale Morris to play on next season
Hang on a minute! What’s going on here?!

No mention of North offering him a 10 year deal at one million a year?!

Can’t believe his manager hasn’t used us as a bargaining tool. First for everything I guess!

Ha dunno, but I will say with our list balance up shit creek, we cannot keep Pruess as a back up, we've 17 defenders on our list, a hand full of forwards and the rucks consist of Goldy, Preuss, Daw and Xerri.

One of Goldy/Pruess need to go
Any danger we recast one of our abundance of KPDs as a forward?

Daw and McKay look capable. Even the cantaloupe could at least stand at both ends.

Don’t like the rumour I heard today linking us to Dan Hannerbery....

Is contracted and we’d be looking at moving on our first. 4 years ago I would’ve been all over it but he has been very average for 2 years now
I’ve heard Syd want to move one of their mids on and that Parker is the one that’s gettable. Posted this at the start of June.
I don’t think we’ll be interested to be honest.

He has been battling OP for the last season and a half. If he gets it right he'll be back as good as ever.

Look I'm not sure 17 defenders on our list is an issue, if we had just one more we could bat very, very deep across all back line positions. Yes you would think McKay should be playing as a forward at some point in the VFL's. Daw should now play permanent fwd, why we're not playing Nielson, Durds ( pre injury) McKay is beyond me?

EVW is out injured and is clearly rated higher than at least two of the three, if we're not going to play them delist them. To have your first rd pick stagnating on 9 games spread over 4 completed AFl seasons is a joke, and yep it's on us.

Our list management is amateur at best, imo. I do run my own team of 22 at work and reckon I'm better at list management than North. And before anyone wants to tee off, come prepared for a discussion, bring your facts or at least try and counter my wonderous-web of weltschmerz.

I made my thoughts on the imbalance of our KPF and KPB development known a long, long time ago. A few on here got it. It's a shame that when we committed our top KPF prospect to become a backman, we didn't fully address the imbalance and throw the bloke drafted as a KPB up the other end and lock it in Ed.

You reap what you sow.

Getting McKay back has done wonders for him as footballer. He's improved out of sight.

It's time though to move him forward again if we think Maj is going to be a KPD for the long haul.

Gee, that is worth the risk if we think we can get him fit I reckon. 27 years old, absolute gun when he is going, great compliment to Cunners and Higgins - that would give us a high end midfield.

I don't disagree. My concern is that we haven't locked Durdin up the other end.

Yep agreed he needs to get back to where can be the most damaging for us and imo that's forward.

I don't think the coaching department are sold on Daw down back.
