Scale works against the likes of Gold Coast with these cases. Hypothetically, Lynch getting 800k at Richmond is arguably more attractive than $1.2m at the Suns. The difference after tax is $200k and he's not exactly below the poverty line.

Suns should be looking for guys being paid in the 300k-400k range. Could probably get them with say 550k and regular first-team football.

Lynch will essentially become the Kevin Durant of the AFL: a player who bailed on responsibility and a chance to build and lead his own team in favour of a cheap shot a flag. He could’ve gone anywhere else and maintained some respect. Now he’s just a Tugger.
And here's hopin he buddy's that shot at a flag

I'm a bit far to march :)

Well I wouldn't go that far, but it's hard to know how much you're exaggerating. But it's definitely questionable and it's not in the AFL's best interest to question any of it if its not made a big deal of. GC will be a basketcase with or without him and they'll probably get pick #3 for compensation. So effectively with Pies/Lol getting Lynch and strengthening them, it also puts everyone down a peg in the draft. Which effects clubs who aren't into academies and father/son.

Anyway if they don't lose significant players.....it sounds very fishy. Emphasize 'players'.
Oh it's very fishy. Fishy like Sydney when they signed franklin, JK, parker, jack, tippett, and hannerbury all for 700k+ a year and then bingo bango they give heeney a big contract too.

Am i exaggerating Jindrrk?...am i? Or have you been slowly conditioned to accept it. If you don't the masses call you a conspiracy theorist and their attempt to make you fall in line. Every year gradually the game gets weaker and the rules slowly change. Us vets got upset at first but now we just shrug our shoulders and say "that's the AFL for you". The game has changed but we still buy memberships because we love our clubs and we will put up with it. The new breed only know the current system and that's only what the AFL cares about.

I did the same trick with my mrs. One day i noticed that my lucious locks were getting thinner. I thought "shit if my mrs finds out she might leave me" so i took up running cut my hair and my mrs asked why i cut it? Said "it gets in my face when i run". She bought it. Gradually over the next few years i kept cutting it shorter and shorter from #8 to #0. Now it's been 10 years and my mrs still hasn't said anything about my hair. So i conditioned her by desensitising her gradually over time. Sure I'll never be able to give up running just in case she asks me to grow it back but it's okay, because now she won't think any less of me because i can't grow any hair. I will not let the AFL condition me.

It's a call to arms.

Who says we haven’t had a crack? I’d be almost certain that every Vic club has.

Simple answer, we don't have the endless fraudulent salary cap that Collingwood/Richmond has and Lynch is looking for a premiership in 2 years.

Josh Kelly has a better chance of walking out on GWS this year than Lynch has of ever coming to us, despite the fact that yes, a Lynch/Brown forward combo would be the most dominant forward duo ever.

I found 1 person that will put up with me, the chances of finding another is slim to none.

That's why big respect goes to Cameron Joyce. Imagine trying to ask martin, heeney, and co. for a dance. Only to get slapped for asking. Then waking up and doing it all over again with another player. I would have just said "nope to the draft every year from now on". Instead Joyce is resilient and will get us Gaff and then Kelly next year.

I wasn't exactly saying that you were but sometimes I don't know if you purposely put cream on top of 'some' of your messages, or if you are talking BS at times or serious. You've been difficult to decrypt for me but I should pay more attention....and I'd work it out :)

There's a lot of dodgy stuff that goes on. Its a multi billion dollar business. If anyone thinks that things are all by the books......yeh sorry but I'm not a huge believer. Especially after seeing all this kind of stuff first hand outsideof this industry.

I could go on about grooming (in two ways more than one) but would be way outside the scope of this thread :)

Give it a little time when things are quiet and I am sure someone in the media will make it up that we're in the 'hunt'.

Couldn't care less about Lynch going to the Tigs. It will cook their cap and they'll lose a lot of their depth.
Wasn't signing Martin supposed to cook their cap?

They'll be coming off back to back flags and adding Lynch to their team. Not bad.

Don't know if the rumours regarding Lynch and the tigers are true, but when Riewoldt's contract extension was announced the other day, it was stated that he had taken a pay cut. No doubt that will be the messaging from the Tigers.

Nonetheless, an independent enquiry into salary is needed to reassure / ensure that the bigger clubs aren't rorting the system. Where are the brave tenacious sports journalists, the members of the public ringing talkback radio, when we need them.
