Not happening, Rich signed a long term contract ie. OOC end of 2021. He's very happy here.

BUT and a huge IF- Considering is age and contract status probably a pick in the 20-25 range. IMO he would be a very good cherry on top type player for a contending team.

We’d probably want something like your first rounder due to the fact he’s contracted. He’s gettable if the right deal arises.

We don’t have a first rounder. We have pick 21 from GC, I don’t think there is any chance we would offer that though.

You said that we were sniffing around some big names (or something like that).

Any clues about who they are?

Current Clubs? WA boys? Mids?

Why dont you at least sign up McGovern first and stop low balling him ;) But seriously, you shouldn't let him go to Freo. Its worth paying him extra to avoid that. Would kill me if we let a gun like that go over to Port. Why dont you go for Jetta? He might not be the marquee name that everyone wants to talk about, but he is a gun small defender.

I think we will have our limit with Gov and if we walks we can't do much about it. I think we will already feel that we are over-extending in whatever ends up being our best offer. Because you're right it does make sense to over-pay slightly given what we get in return for him.

Apparently Nev Jetta wants to stay. But if Gov left and we took Jetta then that dilutes our compo. Best case scenario would be that Gov is on slightly more than a million and Jetta is on $400k, meaning that the band 1 (~15) would slide down to band 2 (~20). But it's more likely that Jetta would push our band 1 pick to band 3 (~33) or lower - which wouldn't be worth it.

No. You wouldn’t dilute by taking another FA. Same for us if Sloane leaves. If Nev wants out, you may be able to get him for a late pick. But Melbourne will know they have you where they want you.

Potentially you could end up with 2 first round compo picks. There is no limit right? You could bundle them and get a pretty good pick.

Dees wouldn’t give him up for a late pick.

It could make sense for us take in a FA if we got band 1 and it only pushed us back to band 2, assuming this only represented a push back of a few picks. This would be cheaper than giving something up via trade. But this is the only scenario that it would work.

I think if gaff leaves we would be able to afford to match a bid. So I don’t think we would get compo for him.

For gov the best we would get is pick 15 or whatever. That’s obviously rubbish, but that’s the system I suppose.

West Coast will not be able to match North's Gaff offer especially when they pay more for McGovern.

I’d say he has slightly exceeded expectations. But he’s still so raw. Lost quick and exciting though. Really could go either way.

Only averaging 13 touches, 2 tackles and 2 scoring shots in the WAFL.

Maybe pick 30?

I think he will play on Sunday with Ryan and Lecras out.

I suggest the following:
Gaff is worth about pick 6-8( both st kilda and north would do that I feel.
Lycett about a late first, say 16.
Rich not much, say 35
Kelly- hard to say exactly how good he is unless he played a game without Selwood, danger getting the attention. Again, the most needy clubs like st Kilda, north , gold coast would pay about pick 10. If gaff went was traded to st Kilda for pick 4, then west coast could trade pick 4 for say 8 and 18, and use 8 on Kelly.

Tom MEDHAT that is tied to Freo that one would think will get a bid at some stage.. and yet they do not really have many mid round picks..
