Prediction 2018 trade hypothetical thread

Probably really out of whack trade but make of it what you will. Not a prediction but just for fun.

Gotta love a 7 way trade :)

Freo out: Neale, Pick 6 & 25
Freo in: Hogan, Lobb & Pick 13

Dees out: Hogan
Dees in: Pick 6 & 27

GWS out: Lobb & 25
GWS in: Sydney 2019 1st & Freo 2019 2nd

Sydney out: 13 & 2019 1st
Sydney in: Pick 7 & 23

Lions out: Pick 5, 23 & Mayes
Lions in: Neale

Similar trade to what’s being rumoured + Mayes

Port out: Wingard
Port in: Pick 5 & Mayes

Dogs out: Pick 7 & 27
Dogs in: Wingard

Dees get a good dip at the draft or they can trade pick 6 to GC for May (think May will be held to his contract at GC this year)

GWS get fair compensation for Lobb 13-18ish although in a supposed weak draft &

Freo get their 2 big targets for Neale and an early pick downgrade in which they could use for Ian Hill in which they need more of his type according to a couple Freo fans I’ve spoken to.

This allows Sydney to draft a player before a bid on Blakey in which they’ll use Pick 23 & 33 to match any bid following 7.

Brisbane get their desired player over which they’ll be happy to pay slight overs if any for a guy who is keen to go to Brisbane.

5 & Mayes compared to 7 & 27 values Mayes at about Pick 38 and Port would be desperate for that higher Pick so they won’t mind paying slight overs for Mayes to achieve that since they want to get their hands on at least one of those highly rated SA draftees and maybe have a choice between 2 of them.

Dogs get their man in which their very keen on for a fair price.

Very telling that in these trade scenarios that screw over port the explanation is always that they would be desperate to get a pick but the same desperation is never applied to teams chasing after our players? Hawks and dogs are so apparently nonchalant someone should check to see if they have a pulse.

What would STK need to give in addition to our 2019 first for Gold Coast's pick 3? Would have to be fairly substantial I'd imagine

Re speculated McGovern trade I'd see ADEL's second rounder coming back to CARL and 42 off to the CROWS as well. Win/win all-around.

I wonder if the Crows are thinking a trade now of 14 & 16? (their first pick) to GCS for Pick 3 and grab one of those top SA kids?

Where would they get pick 14 from?

Where would they get pick 14 from?

EDIT: Pick 13 is Sydney

CARL to SYD: 26 & 28
SYD to CARL: 13

CARL to ADEL: McAdam, 13 & 42
ADEL to CARL: McGovern & 21

ADEL to GCS: 8 (or 13) & 16
GCS to ADEL: 2 (or 3 if 13 used).

Pick 2 or 3 used on Jack Lukosius or Izak Rankine. And still have 8 or 13.

I think the McGovern will be as simple as 13 & McAdam for McGovern

Then Adelaide to GC

13, 16 & 21 to GC for 3 & 29/32

It might be unless Carlton need 21 to land Setterfield if 43 won't cut it with GWS. 68 to COLL for Fasolo and 76 on Father/Son Ben Silvangi.

43 is way unders. 21 is probably about right for Setterfield

43 won’t get the deal across the line for Setterfield but Adelaide won’t give up 21 in McGovern deal.

2019 2nd & 43 might get Setterfield across.

Mitchell54 Yup - you were right. McGovern deal done.

2019 2nd & 43 might get Setterfield across.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that perhaps 43 & that 2019 Third could do the trick. Fas will come without anything as free agent?

Tyson for 2019 2nd

Hall for 2019 3rd

Have you seen Aaron Hall play or you just don't rate him? He is worth a 1st rounder, early 2nd rounder at the very worst. A gun.

To be a little more transparent i was alluding to how will North get TT and Bailey Scott, and get the other trades happening? A lot of North supporters were vocal about not getting Blakely but looking at it now, in all likelihood they probably wouldn't have enough draft picks/points to pick up all academy/FS selections (TT, Scott & Blakey) anyway - (providing there were 1st round bids for all players by opposition clubs).

Silly question but why would the Swans take Carlton's two second round picks (equating to pick 10 in points value) when we could get West Coasts two second round picks (equation to pick 6), which they could use for Kelly?
Essentially i would think it comes down to the old saying:
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

You wanted to downgrade your picks for points to get Blakely, this gives you an extra 300 points i believe.

Apart form the fact those WCE picks equate to pick 6 which is well beyond the point differential cap placed on pick only swaps (without other picks going back) - there is no guarantee that WCE were even willing to put them on the table.

They were smart business wise to take an offer they had right in front of them instead of holding out for one that might have come.
They can now move on and get involved in other trades if they want.
