We're talking about a team which traded pick 2 last draft for Weller?
If Suns are eager for 1st shot they'll offer something nice, if not perhaps the SA teams will be try and bid each other even better for the opportunity to lock away either future champs Lukosius or Ranking.
That would make a lot of sense.

Both the Crows and Port will look to get pick 4 or 5. Neither is looking seriously to pick one. Carlton will want too much for it, which would be foolish for either of the other sides to do.

Given there are talks that Port and the crows are very keen to snare one of the top SA prospects, what are both clubs prepared to part with to trade up to pick 4, given you would expect Rankine to still be available?

If the saints were to get involved in the Wingard deal, I'd look at pick 4 + 28 for pick 6 + Burton.

The crows' pick 8 is just outside of the standout group of draftees, so would be more keen to do a deal with Port. Would crows accept pick 4 for pick 8 + Milera?

After Blakey gets bid on (if we say at pick 7 - we would use 26,33 and 38 slides to 41 I think) the Swans then trade 39,40,41 to Collingwood for pick 19.

That’s 339 points extra and the equivalent to pick 12 before discounts and helps them get Quaynor and Kelly without further diluting their current second pick - in the 50’s and potentially going into trade debt.
The Swans obviously get another first round pick.
It looks win-win to me and within the rules

It’s a bit novel and I’m sure we’ll get a trade ban for it but what do you think?

Currently you are only allowed to bring in two more picks than you have list spots. So they may extend this with live trading to be “you can only use two more picks than list spots”. This would mean that you had used five picks for two players which wouldn’t be allowed. But this hasn’t been clarified.

If they didn’t prevent this then you would have to get some late picks in the pies trade I think (which wouldn’t be a problem from a deal perspective).

We just wouldn't trade him. He hasn't asked. People are losing their heads. Pick 4 is just a pick FFS. Milera is a key part of our future. Could be our next Andy McLeod. You don't trade happy players like Milera for draft picks. Look at all the GWS players that have top 10 pick numbers next to their names that are basically being discarded for a bag of chips. Trade other picks and fringe players for better picks sure. But its just insane to talk about Milera.

I am pretty shocked that Hawthorn have asked Burton to let them trade him. But at least in that case they are trading for a player that has proven he is an AFL footballer.

Too much being given up by GC. Take out 2019 second round and add in a late pick next year and may be fair.

I could see Gold Coast trading in to pick 4 and taking Lukosius, Rankine, Rosee and Hatley. That totally screws Port but it’s give them 4 great players and maybe I’m wrong but SA players seem to have less of a go home factor.

That’s overs, he’s 29 next year and we only got pick 5,24 and Crisp (who was a fringe player at the time) and sent them back picks in the 40’s if I recall. Not worth 2 first rounders anymore, even though they are late 1st round picks

You should be the Dockers new List Manager and Head of Trading. Make that the Head of Trading for all teams.
That looks like a win all round. I would even throw one of our 3rd rounders this year to the Pies.
