A quick attempt at valuing all the players rumoured to be up for trade. I'll probably get all of them wrong...

Hogan: 5 and 15
Neale: 5 and 30
Shiel: 5 and 30
Wingard: 5
May: 5
Setterfield: 10
Polec: 9 with 40 back
J. Martin: 12
Kelly: 14
McGovern: 18
Lobb: 20
Kolodhashnij: 20
Moore: 25
Langdon: 35
Tyson: 40
Mayes: 45
Preuss: 50
Adams: 55
Townsend: 55
Newman: 55
Casboult: 60
Lloyd: 60
McCarthy: 60

Good question.

The only ones who say no are possibly Sydney. But I don't think they are to hardly done by. They bank points for Blakely/ get picks to partner up with Rohan to move up a little closer again. Not massively closer but can do something with them I am sure.

Carlton get their wish of only parting with 24+25 but have to do the work of moving it up into 10-15 bracket and Sydney seem to be the only ones who may want to part with their pick for points banking purposes. Norths probably going to Port, Port hold theirs, GWS won't trade 13 same probably with Cats and 11. In turn Crows get their 10-15 pick they want for MM.

Crows move up to get Rankine/Luko with P3, Saints move to 7 but as mentioned get Hannebery.

Leaves Crows with 3, 12, 15 to get their SA lads.

Collingwood end up with 19 to go with 17. Is it enough for May? Maybe not but could certainly ask the question.

I know I did it but I struggle to see apart from maybe Sydney who says no. Collingwood possibly next in line of saying no but gets them a seat at the table to talk.

I like to keep pick 4, sorry Crows. Leaves us to trade for Shiel. We can get Hanners with a future 2nd pick.

2 late second round picks don't represent value for Lobb. A pick between 15-20 is what would be expected

Alright. Then I'd revise my trade to cut out GWS entirely.

Brisbane
In: Neale
Out: 5, 23

Fremantle
In: Hogan, 12
Out: Neale, 6

Melbourne
In: May, Kolodjashnij, 6
Out: Hogan, Vandenberg, Tyson, 33

Sydney
In: Vandenberg, 23, 33
Out: 12

Gold Coast
In: 5, Tyson
Out: May, Kolodjashnij

Yuck. We are getting totally bent over. We can do the Vanderberg deal with Melbourne alone thanks

Sorry I did a dirty edit while you quoted me, revised for Sydney.

Still rather keep 12. We can do this trade without going near our first.

Rather keep it and then late in the week look at Carlton for a pick swap if need be.

Like to hear what people think the dogs can do this trade period. Looks like we could lose all of Adams, English, Libba, Roughead and Dahlhaus. I think we need players in or approaching their prime age 25–28 as we have a super young list. This is my effort at what we can do let me know what you think?

We currently have Picks 6,42,59 and 60

Out:
Adams & Suckling (Hodge and Fagan connection) to Brisbane for Pick 22

English & Pick 59 to WCE for Pick 18 and Pick 36

Dahl to Gellong for Compo let’s say pick 25

Libba to someone like an Essendon who want a big bodied mid for Pick 32 As an example but to anyone that will give us a second round pick

Roughead for anything we can get if we match his FA offer let’s just say pick 65

Giving us pick 6, 18, 22, 25, 32, 36, 42, 60 and 65

In:
Wingard for Pick 6 - we most likely need to chuck in another pick or player

Pruess for pick 42 - with English and Roughead gone he becomes number 1 Ruck and Boyd can hopefully just pinch hit

Sam Lloyd for Pick 60

Pick up Collins from Werribee to replace Adams and the enevitable Morris retiring

Pick up father son Riley West what will chew into a pick or two

Jack Martin - Do what we can I’m not sure what he’s worth but say pick 18 and 22 if that get it done I’d do that

Anyway I’m probably crazy, definitely desperate and losing my mind but let me know what you think about these options

Well at least that’s one part of it done haha

For the record I think most are pretty fair. The Wingard and Martin trades you may need to throw a future pick in but they aren’t horribly lopsided so well done

If we gave up English + 59 for Picks 18 + 36, we are losing out massively. Any less than a top 10 pick and we've ****ed ourselves.

Libba is an unrestricted free agent, so he'd just go to whoever makes the best offer. Impossible to tell whether he's worth a big contract to take him away, or a tiny contract because no one wants to take too much risk. Could result in compo ranging from anywhere between a pick in the 20s to a pick in the 60s.

If English did get traded out, we would really need to be going for either Preuss or Darcy. If we got Preuss for 42 I'd be happy. We can't rely on Tom Boyd being our number 1 ruck in future

Horrible for port

I after losing English would be a huge kick in the guts but that’s the nature of the beast when we recruited him I knew and I’m sure the club knew of the potential he could want to go home. Do you think they can offer us something better if so what? I don’t see Freo interested as they have a good young ruck. I would love English to stay I think he will be a gun

I honestly don't know what currency West Coast can offer that would be worthwhile. I'd like to get a good player in return, but the only young ones I'm really interested in would be Willie Rioli and Liam Duggan, but both would be untouchable. They don't have the picks to get the deal done unless they trade off players to other clubs to get something decent to trade to us. Either way, I'd rather see the club just say no to a trade

Couldn't give a rats about the rest but if we lose English I'll be pissed. He's gunna be a fabulous ruck in 2 - 3 years. Top 10 or GTFO.

I totally agree I’d be gutted to lose him but if he really wants to go home he will get there this year or next his impact next year for us will be minimal as he’s still growing into his own. I can’t see an outcome how we win the deal but the deal will inevitably happen

Thanks eth-dog

Melb out; Jesse Hogan
melb in; pick 5, pick 6

Brisbane out; pick 6
Brisbane in; lachie Neale

Fremantle our; pick 5
Fremantle in; Jesse Hogan

May need some tweaking but this isn’t a bad basis of a trade

I'd say you'd need less going to the Dees, a bit more coming out of Brissy, and Freo getting a better deal.

Pick 6 and unspecified pick for Wingard would be horrible

That will be pick 7 and 28 at least after compo picks would be poor for port.
Fair enough I have to admit I think we win that trade but I don’t think it’s that one sided. Gives you a chance to take one of the top end SA talent this year eg Rozee Rankine or Lukosius
