Prediction 2018 trade hypothetical thread

Mebourne get May and pick 23 for Hogan gone
Brisbane get Neale for giving up pick 5 and 23
Carlton get McGovern for giving up Liam Jones
Fremantle get Hogan for Neale effectively
Gold Coast get pick 16 and Liam Jones for giving up May
Adelaide upgrade from pick 16 to 5 for giving up McGovern.

It might not work exactly that way but as a rough guide a big multi club trade is possible.

I love how you slipped this one in, surrounded by a bunch of semi-reasonable suggestions, hoping nobody would notice...

Could this 3 way trade work?

Pruess > Melbourne
Hall > North
Tyson > Gold Coast.

We've delisted Pedersen, Bugg, Johnstone, King, McKenna, Filipovic (rookie) plus Balic and Vince retired.

We have picks 34, 45, 53 and 89.

Dean Kent has requested a trade to St Kilda.

Aaron VandenBerg could possibly move to Sydney.

Jesse Hogan possibly to Freo.

8 main list spots (potentially 9 with just AVB moving or 10 if Hogan goes as well) plus 1 rookie spot.

I cannot see us trading out anyone else this off-season, it's just too many spots to fill.

Tyson touring the Gold Coast, so looks likely he is gone too.

This doesn’t look simple but a multi club trade where everyone feels like they could’ve got more but ultimately got what they needed IMO is:

BRISBANE
Out: 4, 22, Mayes
In: Neale, Freo 2019 Second Rounder

FREO
Out: Neale, 2019 Second Rounder
In: Hogan

MELBOURNE
Out: Hogan
In: 10, 27, May

GOLD COAST
Out: May, 27
In: 9, 22

PORT ADELAIDE:
Out: 9, 10
In: 4, Mayes

Carlton
In: McGovern, Crows 2019/1
Out: 25, 26, 2019/1

Sydney
In: 25, 26 (for points)
Out: 13

Crows
In: 13, Carlton 2019/1
Out: McGovern, 2019/1

I like it from a Lions perspective, however, the only change I would make is to swap our pick 22 for next years 2nd rounder.
This way, we would have a 2nd round pick this year (academy player) and GC would probably prefer a 2nd rounder next year than this year where they have quite a few.
I would also include that Melb give up a 2nd rounder and give it to Freo (ie pick 35) OR that pick 27 goes to Freo - as Melb would be very happy with pick 10 & May for Hogan & that GC would be happy with Pick 9 and Lions 2nd rounder in 2019 for May.

I'd do this. I think freo might be a little short changed however.

Was just looking at his career and agree a token pick. As you said if Tyson was involved we’d need steak knives.
No
I think it would be a straight swap or something minor like a swap of 4th rounders.
Tyson is as far away from best 22 as colter and both would be more useful at different clubs

Except Tyson was playing in a prelim final team just a few weeks ago, so your "logic" is completely faulty.

I think Tyson is easily a better footballer. Colyer I wouldn’t mind on the cheap for a bit of depth and pace. No way we’d do a straight swap.

Lang played in a prelim this time last year and was traded for a 4th, Lyons a couple of years ago was playing finals for the Crows and was then traded for a 4th. Hrovat probably would have played in their flag but for injury, also 4th. Koby Stevens, a slightly more depth-y type, but also from a finals side, and traded for a 4th.

Tyson is better than all them, but not demonstratively so.

Like to hear what people think the dogs can do this trade period. Looks like we could lose all of Adams, English, Libba, Roughead and Dahlhaus. I think we need players in or approaching their prime age 25–28 as we have a super young list. This is my effort at what we can do let me know what you think?

We currently have Picks 6,42,59 and 60

Out:
Adams & Suckling (Hodge and Fagan connection) to Brisbane for Pick 22

English & Pick 59 to WCE for Pick 18 and Pick 36

Dahl to Gellong for Compo let’s say pick 25

Libba to someone like an Essendon who want a big bodied mid for Pick 32 As an example but to anyone that will give us a second round pick

Roughead for anything we can get if we match his FA offer let’s just say pick 65

Giving us pick 6, 18, 22, 25, 32, 36, 42, 60 and 65

In:
Wingard for Pick 6 - we most likely need to chuck in another pick or player

Pruess for pick 42 - with English and Roughead gone he becomes number 1 Ruck and Boyd can hopefully just pinch hit

Sam Lloyd for Pick 60

Pick up Collins from Werribee to replace Adams and the enevitable Morris retiring

Pick up father son Riley West what will chew into a pick or two

Jack Martin - Do what we can I’m not sure what he’s worth but say pick 18 and 22 if that get it done I’d do that

Anyway I’m probably crazy, definitely desperate and losing my mind but let me know what you think about these options
Wow, 1st of all, there is reports English does not want to head back to W.A and 2nd of all, no way we swap him for what you suggested.

No from port

Mayes isnt worth that much that we couldn’t get him with a late pick or amon in a trade. Low priority guy not worth being a part of a major trade.

Port should be asking for 4 and 22 for 9 and 10. That 22 is going to become 24 I believe. Mayes can be a sweetener or a separate trade.

Freo
Out- Neale
In - Pick 9,10
Bris
Out - Pick 5, Pick 22 Mayes
In - Neale
Port
Out - Pick 9,10
In - Pick 4, pick 22, Mayes
Definitely overs on Brisbane's behalf but it really depends how highly you value Mayes.

Apparently if the Lions receive 28 from Port then it values Mayes at around 37. Of course it’s not incredibly reliable but considering Port are looking to pick up Rankine/Rozee I think it’s fair.

Mayes doesn't have 2nd round currency
