Most of these salary dump trades do not pass the sniff test at all.
In a way it's similar to free agency. A club spends nothing but salary cap space. The trading club benefits from that salary not being on their books.

I guess you could think of it as GWS releasing Scully from his contract to become a free agent.

I've previously posted that Norf did very well this trade period through smart decision-making

I will now add that the Hawks have done very well also, but i don't know how to describe how they did it

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There's looking back in hindsight, and there's seeing the big picture of what Reid & co are trying to do in the present. We'll have to wait for 2023 for the hindsight (given that most of it will involve kids who won't play in 2019). We'll have the short-term "big picture" in the next day or two.
Disagree I dont think we need to wait that long to see how some players pan out.

In 2016 we took Gooch which looks like a good decision based on last years output.

In 2017 we took Fog, which did very well this year considering it takes a bit longer sometimes for bigger players to come on, not to mention he came into our forward line which aside from the 2017 debacle, was the best forward line of 2017.

Gil has taken the AFL from FIFA to full blown mafia level corruption in record time.

Pathetic excuse for a South Australian. Disgrace.
He bent over the Non-Victorian teams and gave it to us.

For starters the Grand Final to be played forever (feels like it) at the MCG was a disgraceful decision, esp on the back of the Tigers winning last year comfortably at their home ground.

If 2017 GF is played at AO, we walk away with the flag. Its that simple.

Sydney got penalized more for recruiting Franklin
The sad thing was Franklin was a FA at the top club and the Swans still were penalized yet Richmond have taken Lynch from a bottom club and just crickets from the AFL. Vic clubs make their own rules.
