why do players always have to wait for pre season to put on muscle especially ones that have been long term injury? If you have a knee reco you can still do upper body.

This is probably best answered by an orthopod/physio but I'd imagine that the aim of rehab would be gradual increase in loading.

Having significant upper body mass on a deconditioned knee is probably not ideal.

Yeah I have gone through 2 reco’s and this is true. Certainly once you are able to perform heavy leg exercises you can start to go hard on upper body

I blew my knee out last year and have since added significant upper body mass.

Although, not sure what these 'muscles' are that the others posters referred to.
