Smith was the 4th leading run-scorer in the IPL last year. Do you honestly believe Smith wouldn't dominate the BBL if he played it in? He's a better t20 player than Ashton Turner FFS!

Honestly I think Turner is a better t20 player, for a number of reasons. I just feel there is less need for a Smith type in our side. We need to get it through our heads that t20 cricket is specialised, we need to pick specialists. The only two who should be playing all 3 formats are Warner and Starc. If anything it would prolong Smith's career anyway.

Turner is better though as he can smash it from ball 1, whilst at the same time has played longer less risky innings, plus his bowling is handy. Whilst Smith can score quickly he isn't likely to go 30 off 15 which is what Turner can do quite a bit.

This said, he has to be bowling, I agree with him not being picked until that time.

He is just one option as well, plenty of others.
