MY WORDS:
While it's nice getting a VFL / VFLW double header unfortunately the majority of this match clashes with the AFL show across the road. For those keen and/or wanting to get their first glimpse of the VFLW 'pies the first quarter should be manageable while allowing just enough time to settle into the 'G where the AFL kicks off at 3.20pm.

With a completely new structure to the comp form lines are still difficult to establish, however both sides started the season off with a win last week (Coll 7.8 50 defeated Will 4.8 32 ~ Geel 7.10 52 defeated Melb Uni 2.1 13). Geelong have a 12 months head start on us in this comp, so at a guess it will be a tough encounter even with the cats being without their 2017 B&F winner.

Found Silly that is Clashes with the AFL Game
Agreed, just a bit little of adjusting with the start times could have seen a Collingwood footy triple header. Would have been a good way to build interest in the VFLW.

OP updated with the teams; congrats to Rebecca Grant and Chloe Leighton who will pull on the black and white stripes for the first time.

Hope posting a score update isn’t too confusing...

2 behinds a piece at quarter time. Much better game for not having the last touch rule and while AFLW women stand out the skills aren’t that far removed. Alexander looks to be a handy marking forward and is probably good enough to be on an AFLW list next year. She’d make an okay replacement for Garner even if her potential is a bit lower.

Is she number 49? She looked a decent kick if a bit inaccurate that quarter

Yep, I looked it up before posting as I don’t know who’s who yet.
