Mmm. So what happened for Barty and her partner to bail from doubles?
It’s the right ankle injury Coco got at Wimbledon. Never been right since. Guess they were thinking of still making the WTA doubles finals. Think it’s time for her now to close the season down and get the ankle 100%.

Sabalenka is a tough opponent. Very powerful player
Yes, her game is brute force and very little else. At least Barty knows what to expect after that tight first round match in Melbourne which she won. Remember that match for the crowd constantly mocking Sabalenka for her screeching and the umpire calling for quiet.

She has the most annoying grunt. Her game has improved since the AO match, and she did pretty well at the US Open

A lot of points for Barty to defend this week so whatever happens tonight, it's still a good result. With the way Sablenka is playing, it's going to be tough.

Wang Qiang is forced to retire in the first semi. shame for her and her local fans. Heres hoping she can get up next week for the biggest tournament in China.

TB first set.

playing exactly how you think it was going to go. Barty is trying to keep Sab on the back foot with the variety of shots, or else Sab smashes it past her.

Holy moly, she missed a first serve. Sab is serving like a monster

Barry didn't get one shot back in that game.
