He hasn't changed his game... Still can't shoot.... Doesn't move when he doesn't have the ball... Relies on athleticism that is fading and won't be able to handle being 2nd fiddle.

James needs the ball in hand and he needs shooters around him.

Russ has been slammed every point of his career for being a superstar. He was called out for not being an off the ball PG. Changed his game. Called out for hogging shots. Changed his game and his team mate KD became the MVP. Called out again for not being a true PG and just scoring, averaged the highest assist in the league with averaging a TD and MVP. Called out for not involving PG in the game and next season PG became a legitimate MVP candidate. For the first time since before his busted leg.

Russ has evolved his game in many ways every season but people are now calling him out because he can't shoot, he hasn't even had to rely on his athletism last 2 season's but people like to hold it against him because overall it doesn't suit the argument that he's a loser while he's playing on the most talented and ready roster. People get fixated with one hitch in an overall great players game and start the narrative that it's why they cannot win. LeBron can't shoot and he's won his entire life.

Im a 76ers and Lakers fan as I started watching the NBA in the days before even Foxtel existed so you needed a few teams or you never saw a team you support play.
Ben Simmons to the 4 position is the big news at Philly.
Huge key is Shake Milton. For this to work they need Milton to keep playing like he was in the 5 games before the season stopped where he was averaging 22 points and shooting over 50% in threes. That working would also mean Horford and Embid spend less tome together on court which has not worked. Bench looks much improved with Horford, Burke, Robinson III, Kormaz, Scott, Quinn and Aussie Mattisse.
Burke and Robinson III should also be better with more time to get to know team mates games.
Likely to face Miami or Boston in the first round which would be a very interesting series. either way. Could yet be the huge surprise packets

Lakers have added Walters and Smith. Getting more bench scoring is needed to match the Clippers if or when they play them.
Im tipping its Lakers versus the Bucks for the Championship. Although if George and Leonard at full strength they will be hard to match too. Cant wait for the season to start.
