The Gold Coast retention issue is so overblown by the media. We have just as big of an issue, and GWS significantly bigger.
It is one thing losing a 5 year player who decides he doesnt want to spend his entire career playing for a team on the bottom, its a much bigger issue to be losing a F/S who starts in the centre square in a GF team.
If GC improve, and its almost impossible that they wont with all the picks and concessions, then they will be fine.

Yes, exacerbated by poor drafting too. At least when GWS lost players there were equally good or better ones who stayed with the club. In the case of Good Coast they basically lost the decent picks they made and got left with the duds.

Last 6-7 picks have been kind of weird barring Kemp. Good news as it should mean we get a very good player (Gould, Robertson, Rivers, Worrell, etc.) with our second.
Every player on that list, other than Caddy and to a lesser extent Saad, left because their career was going nowhere at Gold coast. That was my point.
If they improve on the field then they will be fine.
