He would, but Thurlow was supposed to as well. It didn't change where Mills got played.

Less so Mills (though he is perhaps the most similar player to Mills), but more what Young could mean for Blakey & Dawson. If they're two players we at times wish we could've cloned this year, then having Young in the team gives us that option. He could play defence and allow Dawson to play in the midfield and Blakey to spend more time inside 50, or Dawson could be in the front half more and let Blakey play up the ground as he did late in the year.

Ideally we want as many good ball users and decision-makers as possible in the team and Young would definitely help achieve this. Absolutely baffled if the talk about GWS preferring Ash to Young is true.

Or we can just not and not select him anyway which we wouldn’t anyway.
The advantage to us is having next year's pick this year. Our bargaining chip is that we allow the possibility that Green could slip out of the top ten. And if we perform as badly or worse next year, then GWS get what they want this year for which they were prepared to pay handsomely and re enter the first round at next year's draft at much the same number.

Waste of time and resources- we are pretty happy having pick 5

We don't want next year's pick this year. This draft is ordinary compared to what's on offer next year. We have two Academy boys we are very keen on, Gulden and Campbell. So we need as many points that we can get. That is why I don't think we will go overboard on mids in this draft

This is a Midfield draft. Should be a 75% mid selection bare minimum for us

I have no intention of advocating the giving up of pick five - I am trying to gain pick four because GWS believes that they can get their boys with later picks than four.

Waste of time. GWS have nothing to give us anyway.

Next year's draft will be made easier for us if our academy lads are bid on late first round or even second round. Points can be accumulated and we are more certain of what we can afford to pay for them. If we can get to use our next year's first this year by swapping with GWS then I see that as a win for us in terms of the team's development.

Rather use our first to grab a slider like a Kemp, Serong, etc

Live trade it.

No way those boys will be waiting until the second round. Seen as guns and Campbell was BOG in the Curtain raiser for the GF. He will go top 10. Gulden is possibly second round but again probably first round. They are seen as top end elite talent.

Interesting how Young goes from top 3/4 to late in the top 10 in the eyes of the pundits... without any footy being played. Gotta love recruiting these days

Where he should be in my view. Around 10 is about right
