Pick 5 has to net us someone in the absolute top echelon of footskills

Honestly I just feel there are better options at our pick I’ve got a list. One of those players I’m happy. We have bigger holes than a HB. I have huge queries on Young being a mid and whilst some will say “who cares he’ll be a great HB general, our side needs mids”.

2. Kemp
3. D.Stephens
4. C.Serong
5. Jeremy Sharp (2nd round)

Kicking the footy is a surprisingly under rated skill these days. Between he, Dawson, Buddy and Blakey Imagine us cutting teams up with kicking.

All (except Sharp) are midfield options. I’ve been adamant we need to refresh the midfield. I don’t see Young as a mid at all similarly I didn’t see Francis as a mid when he was drafted.

I also like how the top 3 in my list can be genuine points of difference in our side

They aren't. His list is just his opinion, an over-inflated one but not worth worrying about

I just read elsewhere (another forum) that Twomey said we haven’t shown as much interest in Flanders as other clubs and also that he doesn’t want to leave Vic. If that’s the case then I doubt we will go with him.

Everything stems from your midfield nowadays. Now for the record I had Jackson as my 2nd choice so it’s not if I haven’t considered non mids in my list and I feel we can get a HB type in the 2nd round if need be.

Is Francis a mid? I didn’t see him as one when he was drafted, and I don’t see Young as one. I feel Young is best as a HB, delivery type player using his foot delivery. That’s fine but we have other pressing needs.

It’s an opinion, I’ll stand by it. Thankfully looks likely we won’t pick Young. Flanders or Stephens can’t go wrong

The player I really want is Young if he is still available. He looks really composed and a good attacking kick.

My next preferences would be Stephens for outside run and quality. Then Serong who seems a safe pick. Then Kemp if we are prepared to be patient as he gets fits and adapts to being a midfielder.
