Good ones? Significantly.

The fact that GWS would bring Mumford out of retirement, rather than play some Blicavs type, is testament to that.

A really good ruckman can be a weapon (e.g a Grundy) - but if you don't have one its not the end of the world - you can still be a premiership side if your mids are excellent.

Goldy, Grundy, Gawn... Gun ruckmen in recent years and all failed to win a flag thus far. Nic Nat as well, but injury hurt him.
Many premiership teams with makeshift ruckmen.
We got lucky with McKernan, he was a ruckman who actually turned matches, but star ruckmen are a bit overrated IMO.
