Plenty of talent available at our first pick. I'm more interested in our other picks and what we do at the trade table. That is where we have to improve as a club.

Not sure how Freo would get him unless they take him at 6 or trade to a later selection that sits before Liam Henry gets bid on. They do have some currency to trade will be interesting to see how they try and position.
Word over here is that they are looking at going down the path that was to start 2 years ago, keeping WA kids in WA and bringing some home, but Lyon had to much influence in there draft and it didn't eventuate. SPP is currently on their wish list and so is Bolten. Zurhaar, Naughton, Miller and Hayden have also at times been on their radar.
Currently there are a few managers that are cautious with their approach to Freo.
I'd be interested to see who ends up coaching their, they are definitely looking all over, it's reported they were in SA interviewing today (Pav & Belly). They would want to make a move on it soon, going into trade week without a coach in place isn't ideal.

Ben Kelly from the Murray Bushrangers still on the radar? He was talked up as a potential mid year pick up.

19 y.o 200cm key defender. Incredible closing speed and good hands. Averaging 14 disposals and 4 marks per game for the Bushrangers.

What was the name of the McGuinness lad who we could have had academy access to last year?
Matt McGuinness. I was well on his bandwagon considering he seemed a composed left footed defender that was good one on one.... then we didn’t even bother drafting him

Matt McGuinness was racking up midfield-type disposal numbers as a key defender for Tassie earlier in the year. Haven't really heard anything since, was invited to the state combine so at least one club (probably us) has some level of interest. He could mostly likely come as a Cat-B rookie which makes him an interesting prospect.

Looks like one of Serong/Ash/Young/Flanders will be available at our pick, can't go wrong with any of that lot. Kemp could very well be the best in it (same for Luke Jackson) but unless we've got a second 1st rounder the risk looks too great imo
I've watched a couple of champs games and young and ash sound a bit overrated.

Would love serong or Flanders but I see Flanders bolting to top 4.

Would love any of them though.

Going off the NAB app, He has put together some really impressive games (statistically speaking). Watched his highlights and he is a beautiful kick.

If we still have NGA access we’d be silly not to take him as a cat B rookie. He’d be more chance to make it compared to an some athlete from another code

After being one of a number of unlucky players not to land on an AFL list last season, the tall utility could not have done much more to stake his case in 2019. Consistently one of Tasmania’s best week-in, week-out, he was composed under pressure in a backline that often saw high entry numbers, and he would take the game on making the right decisions going forward. He also showed he is capable of playing up the other end of the ground or through the middle, but his positioning and reading of the ball in flight in defence are strengths in his game. It is hoped he can attract a late or rookie selection 12 months after missing out.

Didn't really get why we passed on him last year. Don't get a lot of shots at Cat B KPPs that have grown up playing football.

He looked good in the intra-club at the start of the year. Would be happy to see him drafted.
