Heard Paul Roos speak in absolutely glowing terms about Erin Phillips, it's a shame we may never see her play footy again.

Admitedlly haven't watched a lot of AFLW and I'm kicking myself now having missed out on seeing such a champion player.

There are game replays up on the women's.afl website. Watch the crows games from this season to see just how dominant she is. First game is annoying because they kicked 1.11! After that they got very accurate. The first two quarters of the grand final had some amazing skillful football being played.

a poster on the Crows board picked this up - Round 7 Melbourne v Adelaide votes

Round 7 - Melbourne

1 A Foley
2 E Marinoff
3 E Phillips

Think the umpires have got Angela Foley and Jess Foley mixed up

Jess Foley - 10 kicks, 5 handballs, 2 marks, 2 goals, 6 tackles, 16 hitouts (while dominating AA ruck Pearce)
Angela Foley - 5 kicks, 5 handballs, 0 marks, 0 goals, 0 tackles

pretty poor, really, if that is the case, which it certainly looks like

Dates for each club's upcoming shindigs
Adelaide: couldn't find anything about it
Brisbane: Friday 12th April
Carlton: Thursday 11th April (includes entertainment from singer Adelaide Clark, spelled "Clarke" on the club website)
Collingwood: Tuesday 9th April
Fremantle: Friday 5th April
Geelong: Friday 5th April
Melbourne: Saturday 6th April
North Melbourne: Friday 5th April
Western Bulldogs: Thursday 4th April (tonight)

WESTERN BULLDOGS BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Monique Conti (161 votes)
2. Ellie Blackburn (155.5)
3. Aisling Utri (136)
Admittedly without any behind-the-scenes insight, I'm apprehensive about Conti's various accolades if it reinforces her less-than-ideal preparation. But of course the Bulldogs would rather her offbeat opening few weeks than to do without her at all. Finishing 7th out of 10 teams is a reassuring counterbalance though since individual trophies don't motivate these girls*. To me she is something of a virtuoso as a playmaker in the highest class with one or maybe two other AFLW players, so I'm just coming at it from the angle of wanting to watch the best be at their best (and get even better!).
*see any of Monique's interviews to fully appreciate her Freaky Friday on-field maturity

NORTH MELBOURNE BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Jenna Bruton (107 votes)
2. Emma Kearney (96)
3. Kate Gillespie-Jones (90)
The soon-to-be-Sun (so we hear) Jamie Stanton polled 76 votes for equal-sixth.

GEELONG BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Meg McDonald (182 votes)
2. Olivia Purcell (168)
=3. Renee Garing (157)
=3. Maddy McMahon (157)

ADELAIDE BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Erin Phillips (150 votes)
2. Jess Foley (140)
=3. Anne Hatchard (132)
=3. Ebony Marinoff (132)
Justine Mules finished fifth while Stevie-Lee Thompson came in at tenth. Could've swapped those two spots around and nobody would've blinked an eye.

FREMANTLE BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Kiara Bowers (115 votes)
2. Dana Hooker (101)
3. Gemma Houghton (93)
4th place went to Stephanie Cain which, I guess, takes a bit of wind out of my 'Antonio was robbed of AA' sails.

MELBOURNE BEST AND FAIREST RESULTS:
1. Karen Paxman (40 votes)
2. Lauren Pearce (32)
3. Tegan Cunningham (30)

What's the deal with Conti's preparation?
Spent the pre-season playing basketball (8 minutes per game) and imo it showed, comparing her first three games with her last three. Unavailable for the practice match against Collingwood, had a semifinals series in the week leading up to R1 and could have missed a few Bulldogs fixtures for premiership points if her WNBL team made the grand final.

Also recommend the Carlton vs Fremantle PF which was a pretty good match

has any player won 3 B&Fs? and how many have won 2?
Three players have won a club B&F twice: Kearney (=1st, 1st, 2nd), Phillips (1st, 7th, 1st) and Daisy Pearce (1st, 1st, NA).

There are also three players who have finished top 2 every year: Blackburn (=1st, 2nd, 2nd), Eva (2nd, 1st, =2nd) and Hooker (1st, 2nd, 2nd).

So nobody has won 3 B&Fs. But there are three players who have made the AA team every year: Kearney, Paxman (2nd, 3rd, 1st) and Chelsea Randall (2nd, 1st, 7th).
