Autopsy 2019 AFLX Discussion Thread (Billings, Membrey, Steele, Gresham playing)

I will repeat my comment from this time last year.

“If any of our players get injured playing this garbage I will burn AFL House to the ground” (not for reals)
If any player gets injured this AFLX crap will be canned.

Very surprised that Gresh Savage and Steven weren't in our players who were picked. Not sure if they made themselves available, but I thought speed and magic where the best traits for AFLX, not to mention Sav bagging those super goals. Oh well, guess I'll watch it now.
Sav was great in the game last year. He is perfect for this format.

That's 3 players too many if you ask me!
The AFL are seriously kidding themselves with this rubbish!

Can only see it ending in tears for some clubs and ultimately the AFL once they feel the wrath
of affected clubs and the public!

Yeah great idea from the Rocket scientists at headquarters!
Completely dismantle what used to be quite a viable secondary competition and great lead up to the season
with what they have done to the Ansett/Wizard/NAB/Escort and Rick Nixon's jocks Cup that actually had genuine fan involvement
and replace it with this mickey mouse/Disney version of 20/20!

Watched maybe 5 mins, they picked Membery, what a snore fest.

I wont be watching any of it as i have no interest, but if the players enjoy it? then half their luck.
Same goes for AFLW, i have no interest but some do, also i dont watch MKR (snore) and detest Marriage to get my 1st root or whatever that crap is called.

Give me the ABC news or a Doco on SBS :D

Trying to get my head around what it is , and what traits would best suit the game.
To me they need flexible players able to win the ball and also run and carry ( probably why our plodders didn't get a look in early ).
If i was picking players from the Saints it would probably include Gresham, Billings, Steele, Bruce ,Acres, Steven, Marshall, probably Carlisle if fit, maybe Sinclair and Webster.

To me players like Hawkins and Membrey are a bit one dimensional.

To my completely ignorant mind, Riewoldt has the best list.
But Dangerfield has a pretty decent one , with players like Bliclavs and Gaff likely to stand out.

Some of the last picked , like Steele and Fisher may make a mockery of some of the earlier picked.

Betts clearly didn't want to be shown up by Gresham.

Membrey is probably one of the more agile, roaming forwards in the game, not sure where you got one dimensional from.

Is it true that this is on the night before our intraclub so Billings, Steele and Membrey won’t be able to front up for our hitout?
If that’s the case then that pisses me of!

Doubt it. I'd say all three play in the intra-club.

He takes forever to decide what to do with the ball when he gets it. Stands there and waits for the opp to man us up mostly...
This is true, drove me mad last year. Hope him and others similar train on that this year. Still a gun player tho, a deadeye apart from his case of the yips and difficult matchup given his speed, height and vertical leap
