I am very happy to announce that the largest backgammon tournament in Australian history will take place during the 2019 Aussie Millions.

I am very hopeful that the backgammon will encourage a number of poker players / gamblers to come to Melbourne. Backgammon events always involve a number of side-events and chouettes (team play, usually one players against multiple players).

The latest re the highroller backgammon tournament is that:
- https://p40bg.com/ and Phil Simborg pulled their support
- the tournament was cancelled
- local organisers are hopeful the tournament can proceed

And yes, I would expect Seidel to play. We're hoping Gus Hansen will come and play too.

Pretty neat idea. I have never played the game, but its pretty cool to see it possibly resurface.

Bounced out in 8th of a phase three with the top five qualifying (sixth got $6500) - happy with my run after starting from a $20 buy-in but wouldn't mind feedback on my death hand.

UTG+1 (3rd or 4th in chips) jams and it folds around to me behind the button with 88. I have roughly 6 BBs and am 3rd short stack - I put him on AK and called. He has AQo and turns a Q. Bad call by me? With my read I know I'm good about 55% of the time, the guy next to me also reveals he had a Q (not that that changes the quality of my action)

Three years ago they dropped the 250k event:
- 2016 (16 entries), 2015 (25), 2014 (30), 2013 (18), 2012 (16), 2011 (20)

The cash games during the Aussie Millions are insane. There was a 300/600 game going two days ago with hundreds of thousands on the table!
