Interesting.

They say they have no idea yet in the same sentence they have said it would have significant impact. 2 bob each way??

Also, they say short fueling wasn't an option due to time..... Its always an option, particularly if you know you have to stop again.

So they’re saying we have nfi what the impact of the slowdown was.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m against what Fabs was instructed to do but Speedcafe can gagf. There will always be a problem while the rules are written this way, teams can double stack and block other drivers from exiting the pits, etc. This also ignores the fact that CAMS themselves tried to influence the result of the race by having the safety car drive like a pedophile in a school zone just to get one last lap under green.

How didn’t it work?

Those who just happen to be near the pit entry or had just done their stop when a major incident occurred would gain a significant advantage over those who weren't.

Also when can the pits be officially closed if people have already committed to taking the pit entry? What if someone was really low on fuel when the safety car came out and couldn't make another lap?

If it worked, they wouldn't have gotten rid of it.

This is the sort of thing F1 tried too only for Renault to exploit at Singapore 2008.

Those in pit lane would be allowed to continue.
Those approaching pit lane would be forced to drive through without service.
That is the luck of racing.
The incident at Bathurst is now the precedent. And there is only one solution to prevent it occurring again.

And that's what happened and it ****ed races as penalties were handed out to those who were approaching pit lane unaware or couldn't pull out in time without endangering other drivers. It didn't pass the pub test and that's why it was scrapped.

Instead of slowing other cars during a safety car, you'll give teams the option of sacrificing a car on track in order to force an advantageous safety car, like F1 Singapore 08.

He's not really been arguing points well for the last few days so it's no surprise.

Nothing on the Supercars website to suggest it's happening at all.
For someone who was totally off the mark according to you. It must hurt for someone like yourself who is all over every little aspect of the sport to be so very wrong

Could only imagine the outrage if Triple 8 had performed as Penske did over the course of the Bathurst weekend
Would be extremely similar.

They're the 2 biggest and most hated teams

Lol...you are having a lend. There would be calls for a Royal Commission if 888 cheated to this level to win the jewel in the crown of Australian racing.....
And that's exactly what people are suggesting now. How many teams and fans have come out and said "it's not enough, they should've been kicked out"

If it were the Kelly's or BJR the outrage would be half as much.

Im BJR through and through and id be equally as outraged.
So do you reckon if a small team like them did what DJR did you'd still get the SA.e outrage a month later?? I doubt it.

People were getting death threats FFS
