Way to early to say what the best 22 is but I hope, Elliott will be fit so we can release DeGoey into the guts in bursts. Moore just to get on the park still think he is a better forward but right now I would take him playing any position at the start of next year. I hope Dunny can get back for round one and we can get another tall defender to partner him

I just think you're right pretty much.
Matthew will be on sidelines :(
Dunn looks to be going the Goldsack route of quicker recovery.

For what it's worth, I expect Nathan Murphy to be the big riser next season. He's going places.

Overall however I wouldn't be making too many list changes, this group looks as tight I've ever seen a Collingwood list. If May is gettable then I'd do it but with Moore, Dunn, Scharenburg, Reid all potentially coming back at times next season his not exactly a necessity.

B: T. Langdon ---- L. Dunn ---- B. Maynard
HB: J. Howe ---- D. Moore --- J. Crisp

C: S. Sidebottom -- T. Adams -- T. Phillips

HF: W. Hoskin-Elliott -- B. Mihocek -- J. Elliott
F: J. Stephenson -- M. Cox -- J. DeGoey

Foll: B. Grundy -- S. Pendlebury -- A. Treloar

Int: B. Sier -- T. Varcoe -- J. Thomas -- F. Appleby

IN: L. Dunn --- D. Moore --- F. Appleby
OUT: L. Greenwood --- J. Aish --- T. Goldsack

M. Scharenberg
I do love Scharenberg, but I almost don't even dare to dream that (a) he'll be up and about for senior football next season or (b) that he'll edge out Moore, Langdon, Howe etc.

D. Wells
Age and injury always made him a long shot, and I just don't think he'll give us anything next season.

S. McLarty
He won't be ready. I have hopes for him, and I'd love for him to make Mihocek's position vulnerable, but I don't know where he'll be played and I don't think his time will arrive next year.

S. May
He won't be a Pie, in my opinion. If he is then Lynden Dunn's position is on the line.

Others:
I think that James Aish is a decent footballer, but unless he becomes something more than decent in a hurry then I hope/expect others to go past him next season. Chris Mayne and Levi Greenwood have given fantastic service, but in my ideal line-up for next year they will have both been surpassed. A range of other players might be on the fringe of selection or called up at various times (Daicos, C. Brown, N. Murphy), but 2019 is otherwise a development year for them.

4th yr for Daicos and Brown?

Getting into make or break territory there.

As I say, I think there'll be scope for them to get games in 2019 and to demonstrate whether or not they belong at AFL. They're certainly not best 22 at this stage of the season just gone, but there's hope that one or both will be looking more solid by this time next year. I'm neither optimistic nor pessimistic about the prospects of either; just a wait and see approach.

Yep should be interesting.

I think they'll surprise a few.

Once Daicos gets his ball bearings right out there.. develops more strength in his body.. expect that his skills will come more to the fore.. left and right sided player.

Thought Brown was pretty good early in the season.. so something to work on there as well. Adequate enough skills to make it.

If we get May

Crisp, Dunn, Maynard
Howe, May, Langdon
Sidebottom, Adams, Phillips
W.H.E, Moore, Varcoe
Elliott, Cox, Degoey
Grundy, Pendlebury, Treloar
Thomas, Mayne, Sier, Stephenson
