Doull and McLeod on the back flanks in my best team seen. Both rarely played badly and both just got better the bigger the game was.
Unfortunately my memories of Doull aren't the greatest. I was only 11 when he retired. But from footage i have seen and what i have read it would be impossible to disagree. Clearly well respected by the AFL community

Whats wrong with the Greeks (1/2 in this case, Greek Cypriot). Behind every great man is a Greek

he should have won a couple. Jezza one for that matter as well. Our teams were very strong in those days votes were evenly distributed.

Doull read the ball/play better than any backman I saw

A reasonably good result for the bookies tonight (bet wisely) with so much late money going onto Dangerfield & it came as no surprise that Crippa didn't score as many votes in the 2nd half of the season. Being injured & copping some heavy (unfair?) tags quelled his influence in a number of games. The gasps of shock from some at the Brownlow when Cripps didn't score votes in some of our wins was a reflection that many had not seen our games in the latter part of the season. It was players like Murphy, Newman & Ed who had led the way in some of these wins.

I am disappointed for Cripps but last night showed what a champion of the competition he is. 13 of the first 15 votes and a 1-4 start for Carlton. He will win a Brownlow in the coming years.

Genuinely happy for Nat Fyfe, another champion of the competition. 2 time Brownlow medalist and it would be 3, if not for 2014, when he finished second by a single vote but he was ineligible after being suspended for a total of 4 games in 2 seperate incidents.

The way i see it is that both Danger and Fyfe are superb players that would have dominated if it weren't for injuries and having to compete with each other. Now we have another name to add to that list. P Cripps esq. Well done lad, and without injury and a winning team behind you, I have no doubt you will have one very soon.

Won $330 on the brownlow tonight.

Parlay that onto Cripps to win 2020 brownlow ($10?), Carlton to win the flag next year ($150?) into Sam Walsh Norm Smith ($15) into Liam Stocker rising star ($20) = almost guaranteed $149M

Pffft, powerball is for sissies....!

:p
Impressive win!

Cripps getting 26 votes in a brownlow when his side came 3rd last is a great effort. The two ahead are greats of the game (don’t know if I agree with the leaderboard). Felt like he played through an injury in the second half of the year. Assuming he’s healthy he will win the Brownlow next year if we make finals
Hope you are right. We have a worthy winner now and an up and comer. Both could be multiple winners.

The lesser number of votes when we started winning didn't particularly surprise me because it meant we had more players contributing and Cripps wasn't carrying the team

I like your thinking! 👍

Cripps honestly was never really a chance to win. No one has won the Brownlow in the bottom 4. He’s come 3rd in a team that finishes 16th and came 4th last year in a team that won 2 games. Amazing player. Don’t get too salty about the robbery this year because when we are good, he will likely be a brownlow Medalist

5 - Ed Curnow
3 - Charlie Curnow, Matthew Kreuzer, Nic Newman
