I'm pretty happy. Not fussed by the "hard" draw, footy changes so quickly that it's impossible to really estimate how difficult it is at this point of the year anyway. Love the number of Saturday night games.

Freo picked up Lobb (meh)

Hogan may improve them a bit

Neale out hurts
I think they'll improve despite Neale out. Also expecting a sharp uptick once Ross gets the boot mid-season. :rainbow:

Bad points:
Another 2 trips to Perth is good for the WA fans, but also not good for the WA fans as we very rarely win.
Another trip out to Kardinya for us, both other Vic clubs get them in Melbourne. Send them all there ffs
Only 1 Friday night game which is an away game, too many Sunday afternoon games for my/most peoples liking.
Essendon, GWS & Adelaide are the last 3 games & the only time we play them that season, even after all the double ups!

Good points:
Nice amount of home games against good drawing teams
Need to make "Marvel" a fortress for us, 12 games all up there is a good chance
Would have preferred to play Port at AO instead of Adelaide

From a financial point of view can't ask too much more than home games against both Richmond and Collingwood. That combined with making more money playing out of Ballarat than we would hosting those two teams at Docklands means that financially should be an okay fixture.

12 x Games at Marvel
2 x Games at Mars
2 x Games at MCG
2 x Games at Optus
1 x Game at GMHBA
1 x Game at Gabba
1 x Game at Adelaide Oval
1 x Game at Spotless

1 x Five day break
4 x Six day break

Double Ups = Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong, Fremantle and Brisbane.

Round 12 Bye

Marvel-ous fixture, year of the Dogs.

I think Peter Gordon said something a while back about the stand development hopefully allowing the capacity for afl games at Whitten Oval. Wouldn’t be regular by any means but if we’re playing Gold Coast and GWS I’d love the opportunity to host them there. Fingers crossed it’s something we can look forward to in the future!
I could not think of anything better than watching a game for real points at the Western Oval... mmmmmm
Nope can't think of anything better at all.
That would be bloody awesome!

A full 7 day (or more) break in 17 of 22 games is a big plus.

So a lot of snapper and chips Sunday dinners next year?
Barramundi! I'm into barramundi now! And potato cakes! Never chips. Never.:p

Why is one Sunday vs Suns 2.10 instead of 1.10?

That is the Sunday that daylight savings ends next year - all games that day start one hour later than normal.

Champion Data ranks us as getting the 5th easiest draw.

CD method of ranking the fixture is flawed - it is not based on the 2018 ladder, but on points differential. According to CD, Collingwood are not a top 4 team (they finished 2nd), Sydney are not a top 8 team (finished 6th), and Geelong are a top 4 team (finished 8th).

They have ranked Carlton's fixture as more difficult than Richmond - Carlton play 2 top 8 teams twice (Richmond & Sydney) and 3 bottom 6 teams twice (WB, St Kilda, Gold Coast). Richmond play 3 top 8 teams twice (Melbourne, GWS & Collingwood), as well as Port who were in the top 8 all season until thing went pear shaped, and the bottom 4 ranked Blues. The question for CD is how is Carlton's fixture more difficult (apart from the obvious that the Blues finished 2018 below everyone they play next year - how good or bad a team is isn't taken into account by the CD ranking).

5 things i hate about your post (not directed at you Yojimbo.

1. Its called Marvel not Docklands
2. Its called Mars not Ballarat Oval.
3. Its called OPTUS and not Princes Park.
4. Its called GMHBA and not Kardinia Park.
5. Its called Spotless and not, well maybe only 4.

Fans need to be more ABC like when discussing grounds. Sometimes I've got nfi where were are playing.

As for the fixture, at last we have no games at Etihad. Surface was killing us.
