What is wrong with these people. Why not contact them 2 weeks ago and work out a deal to be ready for the start of the trade period? I mean all of us knew months ago that Papley was going to request a trade to Carlton.
Maybe no official contact is allowed prior to the actual period for guys still in contract? Otherwise it is all a bit silly they haven't even called us with some initial offers.

Lloyd is a strange fish when it comes to trading is all I can say

LOLL Heeney, Blakey or Parker is he ******ed? does he not know Daniher is a RFA in just 1 year? what i find hilarious is if Daniher is irreplaceable why havent they extended his contract?

Who does Harley think he is fooling insisting he wasn't tampering.

It's just a coincidence that he asked for a trade to your club a couple months after meeting him, which you claim was a catch up from before he was drafted? That was 6 or 7 years ago.

Yeh Lloyd is just bold-faced about it now. I heard him speak a few weeks ago saying something to the effect of "I used to not be very passionate about Essendon after retiring but since my kids are now really into them I've found myself get back into being passionate and I hate how meek they've become" - so that's the context to view him in. He's well and truly a supporter and his opinions are as useful as a supporter's.

And re: Harley/Daniher, I can see that meeting as primarily just a catch-up between mates but that we had already been in his ear. It would allow Harley to be basically telling the truth that THAT meeting was innocent, but it was part of a larger ambition to get him to Sydney.

The media are just making a big deal of it because they hate not having the story. Like when they didn't see Franklin coming to Sydney. They hate being shown up for how little they actually know and how much they fabricate off hearsay.

Offer pick 5, take it or leave it. If Essendon decline then Daniher will be salty at them and not us. Pick him up for next to nothing next year. Any other approach here is bonkers.

Yet they want 2 high draft picks? Hypocrites!
TBF Dodoro said they haven't and won't give the Swans a trade requirement cause they want to keep him. Sensibly they want to see him back on the park though before paying him. Who wouldn't? (Answer: The absolute suckers being sold a lemon at the Swans)

God I hope it is true they want to keep him. Sounds like we'll need to pay overs and SURELY someone at our club pumps the brakes on paying overs for an injury plagued, inconsistent tall forward who apparantly doesn't live and breath footy.

Our club is being taken to the cleaners by Daniher's management, this is frankly embarrassing.

Essendons reluctance to offer an extension is now finally being discussed and his body now becoming the reason for not offering an extension surely lowers the trade expectations.

There is no reason at all that we need to be offering a high pick for Daniher.

It's fine if Essendon say no.

He can stay, and they can torpedo another season with the off field drama of their highest paid player sitting in rehab and obviously walking out in 12 months. Not too mention a lame duck coach who knows he is gone as well.

i think what he is saying about what Essendon think Daniher is worth and what Essendon will or won't accept, is very close to the truth.
Just wrong. Essendon DON'T rate Daniher as the HAVEN'T offered him a contract so that shows what Essendon thinks about Daniher and he is worth not much at this time but maybe different at the end of next year.
