Imo if we get daniher id move reid back, and play mccartin as a 3rd tall forward. Reid has the size to compete with guys like hawkins etc...mccartin could would still get exposed down back at this stage of his career

Can’t see Reid going back at this stage of his career. Should do well up forward with the third defender.

Pretty sure Reid was number one for us for tackles inside 50 this year, which is interesting and perhaps an indictment on our smalls.

It is more that reids athleticism and the pressure he can apply is underrated, IMO.

Agree.

He does a lot of little things the coaches love. Team player, should be solid as third tall.

Yet they don’t give him votes for the stuff they love....

Hope the Cunningham rumours are true. Reached his peak, at his prime age, and still just meh. Happy to keep as depth, but the coaches keep playing him.

They’ll love it getting down there only 47 times a match
With Daniher up front with Buddy teams are going to have to be a lot more circumspect defending against us which normally means less bodies at the contest which makes it easier to win the ball.

It means Heeney/Blakey can spend more time up the ground winning the ball etc.

Ideally he is bottom six, but if you trade him that just opens the door for a Clarke or a Bell or a Fox etc to get more games

This is why I don’t listen to that trade radio BS. Turned it on out of curiosity and some flog rang in and said Swans have been poaching stars for 25 years and need to stop whinging and cough up players.

He obviously hasn’t noticed the last four premiership sides have featured Swans discards and another won a Brownlow!

I heard him. A Dickhead. Then another Dickhead in McClure agreed with him.

Reid has never ever had to defend a man when going back. It is a misnomer about him being a capable defender until he does. Any competent player in a structure can play the spare man role.

Trade-hungry fans will have to wait a little longer to see this year’s big names move clubs, with no deals to be officially lodged until Wednesday afternoon to increase last-minute drama.

Foxfooty.com.au has contacted multiple list managers who are in the thick of negotiations — and it’s understood no trades can be signed off until at least 3pm.
Each list manager that was contacted confirmed the window for trade lodgements was between 3pm and 7.30pm. One list manager contacted by foxfooty.com.au said: “We can’t do anything at the moment. They don’t have the staff there until 3pm.”

Works well in theory.

We need 3 competent smalls/mediums to pressure the ball carriers, when moving the ball out of our forward half for this to work. Not to mention win the ground ball. Without it teams will have a field day on the counter against us.

******* embarrassing

The Swans and Lions have agreed upon a trade for Taylor, who will receive a three year deal from Sydney.
There is speculation the Blues will hand over pick 48 to Sydney for selections 54 and 56, with the Swans then handing the Lions pick 48 for Taylor.
Why on earth would we do that trade?
