Let’s hope Jones stays

They won’t put Reid up

There is a lot of needs , Ruckman, KD , HBF , Big body Mid

Rampe is getting on also which might have been forgotten, and with Macca , Reg and Smith most likely gone it’s going to be an interesting time going forward.

So, it looks like we may have significant turnover at end 2019. At the least Tippett, Smith, Reg, McVeigh and KJ will go. Each would be on good coin.

Potential new Coaches will already be running the tape measure over the list, looking at those who have growth potential.

Port and the Crow's will have an interest in Hewett, Haywood, Dawson and even Rose. Even the latter has an upside that may attract another Club. I hope the Club and new Coach do their utmost to keep the four.

Jones most likely will join his brother at Melbourne. Even a new coach and better contract offer may not be enough to keep him. At best we could expect a second rounder.

Reid should be put up for trade. He is not likely to be part of a resurgent Bloods outfit. Hopefully he can string together a few decent games. If so we could get a late 2nd rounder from a gullible Club. #lollies.from.Norf ?

Parker is my priority for a trade. He's fit enough and with a few good games may attract a late first rounder. If offered should a new Coach grab it?
Could be up to 10-12 blokes gone at years end

I've Ben saying that for years yet every time I state that Goodes should have stepped aside to give him a spot the usual posters label me a racist or unfaithful towards our club legends. Membrey should be playing for us.
This remains the most wrong headed post I have ever read here. Tedeski, you are a legend. No.37, let me say you speak with the veracity of the Delphic Oracle (tho not about NSW Cricket). Banjo Banyo - hey you hit the mark. Bungee, maybe you are unaffected by living in the Pomgolian Empire.

Is this poster really Ricky Gervais?

Tim Membrey is a genius.
God knows we could do with him now.

24 yo
74 games
131 goals
Goodes in his retired state would still be better than Membrey. You’re talking about a supreme athlete who was our best player in his final finals series.

Besides, even if we got Membrey we would play him as a key defender anyway. For the “versatility”.

Is Dawson the new Membrey?

Can’t see why we would be trading Dawson. Has effectively secured a spot in the side now and we will have plenty of cap room to accommodate a increased new contract.

If he wants to go, so be it, but I can’t see any way we would move him on.

The club has had supreme confidence in him for some time and have been keen to get him into the team and get him up to speed, which it looks like he now has achieved.

Yep he was one I was OK with Horse holding back because I felt like Dawson wasn’t giving 150% like a youngster not secure in the team should. Even now it’s unknown whether he’ll sustain it. He’s played one really good game but it was the first of that caliber in his career. His job now is to replicate that effort as often as he can. So he still should have to work harder to earn his contract than an experienced player as I still have Dawson in the ‘unproven’ category.

Sorry. That is complete and utter tosh.

Horse treated him like the pox. Maybe it was because he had disposal skills. Only Allirs treatment compares.

We need his willingness to attack. He’s not really good for much else let’s be honest, so if part of a trade was a speedy mid who took the game on, I’d take that.
hope he stays for a reasonable salary

think he has a lot of development to come

prefer him to lloyd for instance

Suspect Dawson will get megabucks offers. The only chance we have of keeping him is a change of coach.

Looking at our list, most are tradable. Exceptions are
Buddy
Papley
Allir
Haycart
Ollie
Dawson
Rampe (maybe)
Heeney is THE most untradeable player on our list by a mile.

How can you have Dawson as untradeable when he only just had his ‘arrival’ game this week?

You are completely unaware what happens behind the scenes.

An article released the other day suggested that Dawson did not complete his preseason program and came back underdone at the start of 2018. He also had a number of injuries that took him a while to get going, a bit like Aliir really...

You also can only cite the #alarmclockgate incident because it is the only incident of public knowledge.

You don’t know enough to call my post “complete and utter tosh”, but apology accepted! :)

In any case Dawson has not been harshly treated and I am glad he is start to find his feet at AFL level (it’s two weeks in a row, he had 2 goals and 18 disposals against Adelaide too).

We need to sign him up as soon as possible.
